What You Should and Should Not Do When Selecting A CRM Solution

There are many companies attempting to get a sale from businesses who are choosing CRM solutions. There are many possibilities. Choosing a company to provide CRM solutions can be a very difficult tasks due the fear of losing customers and clients. Sometime the buyer regrets the fact the non-outsource solution was chosen.

What you should do when choosing a CRM solution

  • Find out if the solution is online or on the premise

  • The latest trend in CRM solutions is online and hosted outside the company. The web-based option is flexible, adaptable and available at any time, even after hours.

  • The on-premise option is very detail oriented. Training must be provided to employees. This can be a very expensive task.

  • Request a no obligation one month trial of the CRM software.

  • Check the security features of the software. Some information will require classification and restricted to the access of only some employees.

  • Ensure the CRM solution is implemented and integration into business operations.

What you should not do when choosing a CRM solution

  • Do not purchase a CRM solution only for the brand name, image or the name of the CRM solution provider.

  • Buying a CRM solution because of another individual’s good experience with the solution is not a valid reason to purchase the product. A solution that worked for another company does not necessarily prove this solution will work for your company.

  • Do not let discounts fool you. A company may offer you a product only to eliminate it from their inventory.

  • Never make a full payment for your CRM purchase. It should be paid in stages similar to construction.

  • Do not buy a general box with a CRM solution.

  • Do not sign agreements without reading and understanding the fine print first. Study what is included about maintenance and what costs may be involved after the purchase
