  • If you are going to cook chicken using dry heat, intensify the heat and cook for a shorter duration of time. 8-10 minutes of dry heating would suffice.
  • If you are planning to cook chicken using moist heat, lower the heat and cook for a longer duration of time. 15 minutes of moist heating would suffice.
  • If you dry heat the chicken, make sure you beat the breasts evenly on the sides so as to roast the kitchen properly on all sides without ending up in improperly cooked chicken or overcooking the breasts.
  • Chicken breasts have connective tissue that gets cooked in minutes. If you overdo, the chicken breasts would get dried up due to the presence of fat and that would spoil the meat that you had been waiting to have.
  • Brining before cooking the chicken will make your chicken meat juicy and toothsome.
  • How to cook chicken by brining? Just place the unfrozen chicken breasts in salt water for an hour. Salt water penetrates into the cells through osmosis. This would make the meat taste delicious and juicy. This process is called brining. Just cook after brining the breasts.
  • How to cook chicken at optimal temperature? Cooking chicken breasts to at least 160 degree Fahrenheit is mandatory. But with the rise of fear related to bird flu, its better and safe if you cook chicken to at least 165 degree Fahrenheit. If you are going to serve the cooked chicken breasts to your kids aged 7+, cooking chicken to lower temperatures would suffice. But if you are going to serve the same to senior members in your family then make it a point to cook the breasts to at least 170 degree Fahrenheit.
  • When cooling the chicken breasts, try to do it as quickly as possible to retain good taste and flavor. Use ice baths if necessary to make it quick.
  • Ensure that you do not store the cooked chicken in your fridge for more than 3 days. If you retain it for more than 3 days, then it not only becomes unhealthy but also looses the flavor and taste.
