How to Cook Perfect Rice Every Time
59If you want a really great meal that includes rice, cook real rice. That instant stuff just won't cut it for Louisiana dishes. And it shouldn't cut it for yours! Many think its difficult to cook; however, it is very simple if you follow these directions.
My two favorites are long grain and Jasmine.
Ingredients
- 2 cups rinsed white rice (any size grain)
- 2 cups water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- Place all ingredients in a two-quart sauce pan and bring to a boil.
- Lower heat to a simmer and cover. Let simmer for 12 minutes. It is important not to lift the cover at any time.
- Turn off heat and let stand uncovered for 20 minutes.
- Fluff and serve.
