How to Cope with a Move When You are Battling Depression
59Moving can be a very stressful time in one’s life and it can be even worse if you are suffering from depression. When you move you may not know anyone in the new location. You have a lot of pressure from deadlines you need to meet, such as moving out on time, and getting your utilities turned on at the new place in a timely fashion. You may need to rent a moving van and get that turned in and paid for on time as well.
Remember that if you do miss a deadline it is usually an easy fix and nothing you need to stress over. You may be able to take a lot of the stress off of your shoulder by hiring movers in Maryland, or whatever location you are moving about in. If you are moving from one state to another you may want to hire movers in Georgia that can move your things to or from your state to Georgia. Check with the Better Business Bureau to ensure they have a good record and are free from complaints.
Most moving companies can even pack for you for a small fee added on. This will leave you more time for the other issues associated with moving and less to be stressed over. If you are in counseling you should get a new counselor set up and ready to meet with you once you move, have your old counselor send records. You may need a little more help adjusting to the move and many people find it hard to cope at first. They are in an unfamiliar place with no local friends or family.
It can take some time and help to adjust, so be sure to take some time for you as well. Take some time to relax and take a break from the worry. If possible it always helps to have your friends and family help with the move. A particularly close friend may take a few days to help you settle in as well. This will help make the move a little easier.
You should also try to make new connections early on. Except help from neighbors while moving in and get to know them. Find groups that meet in town that share interests you may have. If you are religious a church group is a great place to start. Remember relocating is a lot of work but it does not need to be upsetting.PrintShare it! — Rate it: up down flag this hub
