Amazon has a little bit of everything. While the site is widely known as a book seller, I have discovered that if I need to purchase an item, I can usually find it on Amazon. The prices on the site are also quite brilliant, and second-hand books are readily available in most titles at a reasonable price. My last purchase on Amazon cost me less than $5 including shipping! Wow!

Quite frankly, Amazon.com is a brilliant resource. I love their lists feature. It allows me to create a wish list for my next birthday or to put together my wedding registry right there online. Even better, it is convenient for my guests! They don’t even need to leave the house in order to do their shopping. What could be better than that!

One of my favorite things about Amazon is that I can create a gift registry (or wish list) that can be viewed from anywhere in the world. Items can then be purchased from the registry and drop-shipped to me in time for the event in question. While I have struggled with other sites, I have always been very happy with the way that Amazon handles their gift registry and wish lists!

Today I will be walking you through setting up your baby registry on Amazon.com. I will be providing a follow-up article with respect to some of the items you should be placing on your Amazon.com baby registry and I recommend having a look at that from an experienced mother!

Before you begin going through this tutorial, it is advised that you ensure that you have an Amazon.com account and that you are logged into your account. I will not be walking you through that process. If you do not yet have an account, please register one now!

When you first log into Amazon.com, your home page should look something like the top picture to the right. This image shows my home page with my personal details removed. If you click on the image you will be able to see the full-sized screen shot of my Amazon.com home page.

Now I will lead you through the steps to create your Amazon.com baby registry!

1. Open up your lists view.

In the screen shot above (click to enlarge) you should be able to see a red box around the "Your Lists" button. Clicking that button will take you to your lists, where you will set up your baby registry.

2. Select the Baby Registry

In the shot directly above you will be able to see a red box around the area for the Baby Registry. The box of text describes Amazon's baby registry. Within it, you will see a link (the blue lettering). Click the link to move forward and create your registry.

Amazon made me log in again. If you are asked to log back in, please do so!

3. Input your information.

You will be taken to a screen that asks you for some personal information. This information is required in order for you to create your registry, and includes your address and phone number so that your gifts can be mailed to your address. This is the final step before you begin choosing items for your registry!

4. Shop!

The next step is to shop! If you know how to navigate Amazon.com, you will be able to add to your registry just fine! Look for items that you would like to have for your baby. I recommend looking through all of the different sections that Amazon has to make sure you cover everything!

5. Add an item to your registry.

When you find an item you like (I love cloth diapers, so I chose this bumgenius diaper!), click the button I have highlighted on the image to the right. This will add the item to your registry.

After you have added an item, you will be taken to a page with suggestions for other items. Depending on how you prefer to shop, you might like to continue looking from this page, or you might need to navigate back in your browser!

Amazon should have everything that you wish to register for your baby shower. Their system is easy to use and convenient both for you and for your guests.

I hope that you have found this tutorial helpful! Have a healthy and happy nine months and good luck for the future!
