Out in the lumberyard, us lumberjacks get quite sweaty. Just the other day I had to take my flannel shirt off due to the intense heat of a scorching sun. Javier, a fellow lumberjack, was kind enough to point out that I was suffering from a severe case of axillary hyperhidrosis. At that moment it dawned on me that I should devote my life to curing axillary hyperhidrosis. Goodbye armpit sweat! This work is the culmination of my years of study on the causes and cures of axillary hyperhidrosis.

Treatments for Axillary Hyperhidrosis
Currently there are a variety of treatments for hyperhidrosis. Some are over the counter, but most you will need to see your physician for a prescription.
Over-the-Counter Anti-Persipirants
At nearly every convenience store, drug store, and supermarket, antiperspirants are typically coupled with deodorants and contain aluminum chloride to block the sweat ducts and stop hyperhidrosis. OTC Antipersipirants should be tried first, as they are quick and readily available.
Prescription Anti-Persipirants
Available only with a doctor's prescription, these antipersipirants contain aluminum chloride hexahydrate, a more potent version of ordinary OTC antipersipirants. If these don't stop your excessive armpit sweat, then you will need to try more drastic measures.
Oral Hyperhidrosis Medications
Anticholinergic drugs, such as glycopyrrolate (brand name Robinul), can be taken to prevent sweating, but they frequently have bad side effects and are only recommended for the most severe cases.
Iontophoresis for Hyperhidrosis
Iontophoresis is a procedure that involves passing ionized water over the skin to prevent sweating. It is painless, at home, and an effective treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis. Your doctor can prescribe a machine to purchase.
Botox Injections
Injections of the botulism toxin into the armpit to paralyze the sweat glands has recently been approved by the FDA.
Surgery - A Risky Cure for Axillary Hyperhidrosis
As a very last resort, a surgeon can destroy some of the nerves responsible for sweating with a procedure called thoracic sympathectomy. This procedure carries high risk, as it can sometimes increase sweating and cause heart and lung problems. It is not recommended, but available.
