67Closet Clutter
It is a well-kept secret. Closet clutter haunts the best of us and even, if you are a whiz at organizing and managing home, chances are keeping your closet clutter-free would be taking up a major chunk of your time. Well, don’t lose hope. There is a simple and effective way of keeping closet clutter at bay in 5 simple steps. So, get started now and organize your closet and bid good-bye to untidy, messy closet days.
Steps to Organize Your Closet
These simple, easy to do steps would ensure that your closet looks organized and simply, great in next to no time. So, let's get started and cut the clutter, right away!
Empty Out Your Closet
That is right. Take out everything, every single item of clothing that you own and dump it either on the bed or in front of you.
Start Sorting
This is the work part. You would need to pick up every single item that you own and ask yourself, ‘Do I really, really, really need it?’ The answer to the question would be determined by whether you’ve used or worn that piece of clothing in the last one year or so. If not, then put it aside. There should be three piles or boxes with you, as you do this exercise. Label them- Keep, Give, Trash. Go through all your clothes and put them into one of the three boxes.
Start Cutting the Clutter
Move the Give and Trash boxes out of the way and get started on putting things back into your closet. Arrange clothes according to type, then color and use. So, all skirts go together, with the whites, beiges, blacks and other colors together and then, according to formal, semi-formal, party or casual. While this would make getting dressed easier and quicker and make your closet look great, you should decide what sorting system works best for you.
Finish Decluttering In One Go
Once you’ve started, attempt to finish it off in one go. Leaving the sorting for later would only lead to a piling up of clothes and then, accumulate into a messy closet all over again. So, keep aside a day to start and finish this exercise and by the end of the day, I promise, that you would have a closet that would be neat, organized and totally, clutter-free.
Do Declutter Regularly
Assign a day each month to go through your closet and weed out the non-essentials, impulse buys that you would never wear or use and if needed, add closet organizers and shelves for more storage and better organizing. This single step would ensure that your closet would remain clutter-free forever and give you the pleasure of using a well-organized and neat closet at all times.
While closet clutter may seem difficult to deal with, it is possible to banish it from your life effectively and quickly. So, do start today and get your closet clutter under control. Don’t let it overtake your life, instead, use these simple and easy to do steps to tackle it and keep it away from your closet for good.

I agree,..if you take just one day a month and go through your closet lt really does help. Also as you maintain it the job doesn't seem so over whelming as the first time you de-Clutter.
