How to Destroy a Ouija Board:

How do I destroy my Ouija board seems to be a common question asked by those who have dared to dabble with the devils Oracle itself. Whilst at first the rules may seem simple, light a few candles, turn the lights out, you and your friends all place your fingers against the planchette, and then the asking of questions.

But behind the naivety that most of us mere mortals display with regards to the inner workings of the Ouija board, lies a world of complicated rituals put in place in order to contain the spirits or demons, and to prevent leakage into our realm.

These archaic rituals are unknown to most, and ignored by others so that it is not surprising that many of those who are either brave enough or stupid enough to play with the Ouija board have problems. But how do you destroy a Ouija board?

It’s all gone tits up; you’re getting tired of rolling around on the ceiling puking up green gunk and having your head rotate 360 degrees every time you have friends around for dinner. ‘Pazuzu’ Demon of the South-Western winds and the bringer of pestilence has out-stayed his welcome, and you need all of this evil shit you’ve unleashed to be gone.

Demonic Ouija Board Attack

Glow in the dark Ouija board.

So what’s the best way to destroy a Ouija board? The most obvious path to choose is to simply throw your Ouija board away, wrap it in a bin liner and chuck it out with the trash. However many Ouija board users have found this to be extremely ineffective, with the Ouija board returning mysteriously time and time again. Ouija boards have been taken to local dumps and tossed out of car windows, and yet, if you believe the stories, they nearly always return to their owner’s home.

Another common means by which troubled Ouija board users attempt to destroy their Ouija boards is through burning them. The setting fire to of a Ouija board as an acceptable means of destroying it is a much debated issue within the paranormal forums, some claim this to be an effective method, others suggest that this should only be performed far away from the users place of residence to avoid the spirits that were contained within the board escaping into the home, and others still advise that the Ouija board should never ever be set alight, as doing so under any circumstance will result in bad things occurring.

Some say that if a Ouija board is not ‘exited’ or ‘closed’ properly after a session then the spirit remains trapped inside the board, if the Ouija is then later burnt it will start screaming and the spirit will be released, and then after 48 hours the entity will come looking for you.

One of the most highly regarded methods for disposing of a Ouija board is to cut the Ouija board into seven pieces and to bury the pieces in the ground, and a more elaborate version of the same method tells how you should cut the Ouija board into seven pieces, and bury those pieces in seven different holes shaped as a pentagram, each hole should then be blessed with holy water, and then filled in.

A less spiritual but supposedly effective means of Ouija board disposal involves simply selling your Ouija board on an auction site like eBay. Ship it to the other end of the world, and hopefully the Ouija board happy with its new owner, will leave you alone.

Could there be a ghost in the machine?  Or something worse...  Dare you play the online Ouija board, converse with demons, and gamble with your sanity and soul both?

Ouija Board Protection Prayer:

Ouija Board Protection Prayer:

Some Ouija board users choose to say a prayer of protection before using a Ouija board in order to protect themselves from negative energies.

An example of a commonly used Ouija board prayer of protection:

"I invite those spirits who are only for my highest good. Any spirits who come through who are NOT for my highest good are to be absorbed into the white light of protection, harming none."

When I was a teenager we messed with a Ouija board and it told us that a friend of mine was going to die right after his 18th birthday, it spelled out his name, it was horrific. Needled to say he did died 2 days after his 18th birthday in a motorcycle accident. I will never forget the experience it wasn't my Ouija Board nor are they ever allowed in our home. They are dark and sinister and people are nuts if they own one. Thanks for explaining how to get rid of them that is great information. The poor young girl above in the video I hope she ended up being ok. :)

Never give a person possed by a demon water, unless its holy water, never.

Men are Dorks: Sorry dude, but if you wanna find out what happens, you gotta go play ;)

AEvans: Great story, although obviously not a great experience for you.  The problem I have is that logic tells me that they are just a piece of card or wood, but so many people have stories to tell that I find it hard to believe that they're all lunatics or liars.  I did find the video above with the girl to be fairly convincing, so yeah if it was real then I hope she's ok too.  Scary stuff!

Robin Salkeld:  Thanks for the info, I've not heard of that before, any particular reason why not?

Well, because a person possesed by a demon is driven by the wants of the demon, i.e, if she was possed and asks for water, the demon is asking for it. Its best to refuse to show resistance, or you will let the demon have more control. Give a demon an inch, and he will take 100 meters, never give an inch, unless you are certein that said person will be harmed even more excessivly. That is one rule of the basics.

When it comes to water, specifically, from what I experienced, a possesed person usually asks for water, usually from the demon. Its best to be on the safe side and give only holy water as it is bad for the demon and helps the person, thus providing only for the good person. The water drinking seems to be some kind of rite to peform as well, and giving the demon water to help out on that rite will just screw the situation up more.

If you get into any trouble and need any help just ask. There are alot more factors to it than just this, is the person into dark energy ? Light energy ? Is the person just letting a good soul in to talk? How strong is the demon (that spirit must have been really really strong if it made her bleed) if its too strong you will need more of everything to stand up against it. But thumb rule, if the person wants water, offer only holy water or after the demon has gone.

Another good thing to do if someone is possed, is to light a red candle and put some happy music on. There are obviously other colours too, so check up what the different colours mean to be sure, I used to carry a few red candles with me in case.

Oh yeah I forgot to add, be careful with the holy water too, it might make the demon react heavily inside the persons body and make the demon physically harm the person, you have to judge how safe it is to use at the spot. Sometimes its better to stick to candles and trying to force the spirit out.

Thanks again Robin, that's a lot of useful information, it sounds like you have a lot of experience in these areas.  Luckily for me I have not come across any demons yet, and hope it stays that way.

I will do some reading into the red and other colored candles though out of curiosity, sounds interesting.  Thanks.

lol Mrvoodoo. We used to make our own Ouija boards in high school. Just used a piece of paper and a coin. We called it "spirit of the coin" :)

Even though logic dictated that I shouldn't fear it - it really kindda scared the shit out of me and I have stayed away from it since.

I do not remember how we disposed of the paper - but we spent the coin on junk food :D

omg im so worryed about this ouiji board becase i just made one but i thort it dint work so i scrunched it up and tyhrew it in the bin beside me is this a okay way of doing it? oh and how do u make holy water?

Hey Victoria, don't worry you'll be fine, although scrunching up a Ouija board and putting it in the bin isn't really one of the recommended ways of disposing of a Ouija board.  I'm guessing it didn't work anyway, I'm pretty sure you'd know if it had, although it's not advisable to play these things alone anyway (just in case).

As for making Holy water, I'm not to sure, I think it can only be made by a priest or some other kind of holy person, although I did read that placing your hand over (covering the mouth of) a glass of water whilst praying can create Holy water, but the effectiveness of this kind of Holy water depends on your level of belief.

Once again, don't worry, and thanks for visiting.

good stuff. tarot cards are evil too. so was that tape of Stevie Nicks....seriouslly..I am not a liar (but maybe crazy.) I saw my mother burn her tarot cards. Threw them right in the wood stove. She made me stay up with her cuz she got scared of them after they were all dancing around her head in the middle of the night. SOOOO we stayed up all throwing wood into the blazing hot fire and finally we got tired and went to sleep. In the morning, they were still sitting there, untouched in the middle of the stove. I dont really care if its real or not, I wont ever touch a oujia board. But I like hearing the stories. :)

Hey Dennise,  Wow! what an amazing story, I've not heard anything about Tarot cards acting in this way before, scary stuff.  I wonder if others have experienced anything like that with the Tarot, sounds terrifying.

I'm with you, I'm very interested in Ouija boards, and Ouija board stories, but I'd have to having a very brave (or stupid) day before I actually played with one.  Thanks again for sharing your story, loved it. :)

I originally didn't believe in the Ouija board or anything involving spirits but one night I did it and started to believe, the next night (Aug 25) I was contacted by a 3 year old boy named Toby who was supposedly my son and we spoke often and he would tell me things about his life that were very possible. I haven't had a kid, but the things he said were very legit. He kept saying 26 and when we asked what it meant he said "death" and when we asked who all he said was "time." The next day (Aug 26) one of our friends dad passed away. I vowed then not to play ever again.

A friend of mine practiced the use of Uuija boards for decades, seeking insights into both his life and the cosmos. I have much of the work he compiled in binders in my basement. Whether the work was "true" or BS, I couldn't say, but there was a structural integrity to his findings that were compelling, to say the least.

Nice hub, your writings are very much in tune with my interests, even though I haven't written much about these things myself (yet). Thanks.
