How to dress for an office party without dressing too sexy. Whether the party is at the office or off of the office site, you must remember that you will have to see these office people the following morning to pay your obligations. Therefore you must be very selective in what you choose to wear for an office party.

You may be attracted to one of the office personnel but this is not a time to embarrass yourself when the feeling may not be mutual. If you choose to flirt then you will not only be embarrassed in front of him but in front of the entire office. You can easily control your behavior and your yearning to get the attention of an office worker. You can not easily go home and change clothes if you choose to wear something provocative or inappropriate.

Men are visual and it would be the opportune moment to show off what you have been hiding under the Hillary Clinton pantsuit, but refrain by all means. You will be pleased with your will power if you choose to not go over the top with your dress for the office party. Do not dress like you are going to the Hollywood premiere of a movie and you have the starring role. Do not dress like you are going to a nightclub and is pleading for someone to ask, "Shall We Dance?"

As an office worker, you were hired because you did not come into the interview acting like you were about to go to a nightclub. When you dress for the office party, cool things down with maybe a change in what you normally wear. If you normally wear pantsuits to work then it is okay to wear a skirt suit and maybe a glitsy tank top underneath. As white is the color that offends no occassion, a glitsy tank top under the skirt suit will do fine. Keep the color of the suit in the work hues of beige, grays and black. You want the boss to think that you are dedicated and still basically on the thinking of work even though a party is going on.

You do not want to lose your personna for one night when you have to see your office co-workers for the rest of the year and thereafter. You want to retain your office look with just a bit of pizzazz. Do not by all means heighten the skirt but keep the skirt just below the knees. No belly buttons should be showing from a too short top or your upper backside. Leave those types of booby tops for the teenagers.

A long skirt to your ankles will make you look frumpy even if you are a size two so keep the skirt at least mid way the leg. Pencil skirts are slenderizing and if the hue is dark will make you look smaller. Keep the colors solid with no prints because you are still serious business and do not want to wazz into the office party looking like you want someone to plant you and then sprinkle you with water.

There were a set on twins on the Rachael Ray Show who said that the suit jacket should fall half way the length of the hip for a slenderizing affect. You may have wanted to wear something to catch that office guy that you have been eyeing, but seriously, men are not just looking at what you are wearing. If he has not asked you out on a date before the party, he probably is not interested anyway. So dress for yourself and possibly for a promotion, dress casually with just a bit of glitsy keeping the skirt lat a respectful length and have fun.
