You have been invited to attend your first job interview and you don’t know what to wear? You have bought a lot of dress, skirts, dress shirts and trousers however you realized that it was not appropriate for the event you’re attending?

As we all know, many people worry about their professional look when it comes to their career, I myself too, because we want to make a great impression with our clothes and appearance to everyone - our clothes reveal how we think and how we look. Also, your looks will give other people the idea about what kind of person you are. In other words, your appearance is important when it comes to your profession.

When dressing up for an event, the first thing you need to consider is to know the occasion, you should wear something that is appropriate for specific event you are attending. For example, you need to present yourself with a job interview for Assistant Executive position. In this case, you need to wear formal business attire or suits such as slacks or tailored pants, dress shirts, blazer and ties for men. If you are not a fan of trousers, you can wear dress or skirts and blouses for women. Formal business attire is considered as the traditional formal attire and typically wears for business

Business casual dress is more relaxed version of business attire or suits. It is composed of shirt with collar and/or sweater, khakis or dress pants and good shoes. Knee-length dresses and skirts are also considered as business casual. If you work on a semi-conservative workplace like BPO companies, this is probably going to be your dress code. There other occasions that you can wear business casual such as interviews and casual events.

Casual dress code is comfortable and shows uniformity. This is an everyday wear which includes jeans, t-shirts, flip flops or sneakers. This is not suitable to wear at work but for some workplace that doesn’t require to wear business attire, this is more likely going to be the dress code.

Now that you know the basics of what to wear in different occasions - job interview, internship or casual events, you should be able to dress properly in any given occasion.
