Listing of Paid to Click and Traffic Exchanges

Update October 4, 2008

FoxCash seems to finally be back after being so badly hacked. I have also included a section for surf for pay sites with minimum payout requirements of less than $5. Paypal has frozen funds for BuxyBux so they have been moved to the not recommended section and also WePayBux because their site is down and they are not responding to emails. More and more surf for pay sites are going to instant pay or shorter pay out periods. I am no longer joining new sites that have payout times in excess of 30 days. Some of the older sites that have been badly hacked have been unable to meet their promised payout times.

Surf for Pay Guide

You Don't Need - Money

You Do Need:

Time

Ability to read English

A Fast Internet connection (dial up is too tedious)

At least 2 new email accounts - Gmail is best

Paypal and Alertpay accounts

A free log in program - I like Roboform. The free version allows 10 free logins and identities. Use the identity feature to fill in your registration details including favorite user name. Enter your Paypal and Alert Pay email in a field in the custom section. This doesn't always work so you may have to type that email address in manually. (Note - the login program won't work well with sites requiring entry of touring or captcha codes)

NEW - Special Note re Passwords) I have read recent posts on PTC sites about hacking. The easiest way to protect yourself is to have a unique password for each site. I used to think that just using the same password was okay, but have changed my mind and my passwords. You can use Roboform to generate and save the passwords or make up your own. The most secure passwords contain a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. You could easily use the same user or login name and just copy and paste the passwords from any document file. Always make a backup hard copy of your passwords.

Step 1 Set up two new gmail accounts with Google one for Paypal and AlertPay, the other for your contact email with the surfing sites

Step 2 Set up your Paypal and AlertPay accounts

Step 3 Download free version of Roboform and enter in identity details including a custom field for your AlertPay and Paypal email address. Sometimes the custom field does not work, it just depends on how the registration page is structured.

Step 4 Join the programs using Roboform to fill in your information. The easiest way is to use the same user name for all of them. Some of them will issue an ID # or password of their own and send you a confirmation email. Open a Notepad file and copy and paste all the login info, payout minimum, description and referral codes/banners for each program as you join. Be sure to bookmark each login page. You will find Roboform handy as you will need to join many pay to surf sites to earn income. An alternative method would be to bookmark all the sites in one folder called PTC, for example. Then you can keep a notepad file with the websites in alphabetic order together with their user names, passwords and just copy and paste. If you use MS Word you can insert hyperlinks into your listing and just use that to access the login page for every website.

Step 5 Start surfing

Step 6 Join at least three of the traffic exchanges and viral advertising programs to refer people to your programs. Enter the referral codes and be sure to allocate traffic credits as they are earned.

Step 7 View ads in traffic exchange programs to increase your referrals.

Step 8 Post ads in free classified to increase your referrals

TIPS

These tips are primarily intended for surf for pay or paid to click beginners. In the following I recommend that you use caution if you upgrade or buy referrals. However, if you have received timely payments from a Surf for Pay site or it has received raves from independent forums, it may be safe to upgrade or buy referrals. Just remember, this is like any other business, it can be very profitable but there are no guarantees of income.

1. Upgrades. Exercise caution - read forum postings to find out how the site pays.

2. Referrals. Since you have no way of knowing if a referral will be active, use caution. I personally try to find websites that replace inactive referrals. However, I sometimes do purchase referrals without replacement guarantees if the site is very active and I have done my homework by visiting forums.

3. Ask for payment as soon as you reach the minimum payout amount.

4. Focus, you will be viewing many ads and some will be very persuasive. If necessary copy the url of any interesting website and paste to a "to do file" then visit when you have time. If you follow up on very many during a surfing session you won't get much work done.

5. Start a "swipe file" in word pad. Copy and paste ad texts and snippets that tempt you to click. You can use these snippets to build your own ads for free classifieds.

6. Try to set a schedule for placing and viewing ads

7. Use a free ad tracking program to track the number of hits an ad receives. If a site sends you 1 or 2 clicks every other day, that is a keeper.

8. Post ads during the active hours of the day. Statistically Tuesday is the best day to post, but the more you post, the more often you will find good ads sites.

IMPORTANT NEW TIP

9. Take screen shots of your stats and referrals. There are a number of little free programs that work well for that purpose.

OLD UPDATES:

Update September 18, 2008

Found two new surf for pay sites that are really active and have reasonable upgrades available. Visit my listing for the lastest additions. Croclix and FoxCash are still off line intermittently. They are great sties but the hackers have been after them.

Update September 18, 2008

I have included a new section of new surf for pay sites which have minimum payouts of less than $5. Foxcash and ThinkBux are up again. 07Bux is really hot now as well as Buxdol and Buxout. I have moved 10bux to the not recommended section. The site is down, perhaps due to hacking,

Update September 3, 2008

Some of the more dependable sites that were hacked are now back up. Some of them have new security features. FoxCash is back up and most of the others have recovered. It appears that the established dependable and honest players in the business are prime targets for hackers. It is a sad situation that businesses and individuals are continually harassed by hackers and have to take such expensive measues for protection.

Update August 27, 2008 re Hackers

Many problems have been reported due to hackers. Some of the most succesful and reputable sites have been subject to repeated hacker attacks. Fox Cash has been hit twice that I know about, Please take a screen shot of all your referrals and clicks every day. When a site goes down they can restore their information but there will usually be a period when information is lost!

Updated List and Website on July 27, 2008

Moved LoyalBux to not recommended section, site not up!

Updated List and Website on July 24, 2008

Added a few new sites. I am happy to report that Fox Cash is up to speed with their secure server. Moved BuxUp to the not recommended section because the security code feature was not working so I was unable to log on. It has a new owner and administration so perhaps they are just having a few start up problems. If they can get their site up, I might move it back.

Updated List and Website on July 23, 2008

Wow, did I ever scamed by GreenBux. I was almost ready to cash out and the site went down, very disappointing for me and for my affiliates. It and BuxsParadise have been moved to the not recommended section. It just goes to show that the higher paying sites just don't last. The higher the PPC amount, the more skeptical I am about its lomg term survival. Compare the amount advertisers pay for advertising to the amount surfers are being paid. If surfers are promised more per click than advertisers pay, the site will not last or could be an outright scam.

Also, be sure and check the minimum payouts when you register. Often PTC sites will advertise a lower amount that is not available to standard members or they purposely mislead surfers. Another ploy is to get you started clicking then raise the payout amount. I have begun to take that as a sign that the site is unreliable. This is an interesting business, but if you stay alert you can make money.

Updated List and Website on July 21, 2008

Moved 5bux to not recommended section. As far as I know their site is down. That is a continual problem in this business, you lose some. That is why it is important to register with many sites and take your payouts ASAP.

Update July 18, 2008

I have added a listing of bad PTC sites and totally revamped my simple website.

Update July 10th, 2008

Fox Cash got hacked really badly and their management is manually updating member stats and referrals. I will add a another tip below because it pays to back up your member statistics and referrals. Fox Cash is owned by a very honest and reliable person, but there are limits to what they can restore in their system. My big recommendation and I just can't emphasize it enough is to take screen shots of your member stats and referrals. Also cash out often, AlertPay and Paypal don't charge anything for holding the money. You can let it build up to $50 or $100 before you transfer the funds.

Housecleaning and Update July 4, 2008

I removed some stable but very low payers fom my listing. Some of them are still on Marketing Pond or Global Team Club but I am not doing much with them. I Have moved my top pcks up with statics to help you to choose where you want to spend your time.

Moved several sites to the not recommened section. I have concluded that sites paying much more than $.02 per click may not last long or are outright scams. Also a few sites that I have reviewed only exchange clicks for advertising but that is not disclosed in their initial ads. They should be advertising as traffic exchanges. So beware.
