Its Fun and easy!
You may have seen many different programs, books, and DVDs claiming that at a hefty price you could learn how to play guitar. You may have even hired a freelance teacher that charged a ridiculous price while not giving you the same value in lessons. Well today I'm going to show you how to get free guitar lessons online and all you need is an active internet connection!
First of all you need to evaluate how you learn best. Are you a visual learner, or do you learn better through instruction? In my opinion the easiest way to learn is to have someone show you. Youtube is an amazing tool to help you in this respect. If your a visual learner this simple technique I'll show you will help you learn very quickly with the help of many veteran Youtubers!
Step #1 -- Go to www.youtube.com
Step #2 -- Decide what you want to learn! There are many different directions you can go at this point. Do you want to learn your favorite song? Do you want just a beginners lesson? Maybe your intermediate and your ready to take that leap into playing lead guitar or even soloing?
If you've decided that you want to learn your favorite song just type in "name of your favorite song" followed by guitar lesson
For Example; In the search bar I would type: "Im yours" Jason Mraz guitar lesson
After you enter this a list of videos with guitar lessons for "I'm yours" will pop up. It would probably be most to your advantage if you select a highly rated video with a lot of views as you will find they often have the best instruction.
If you want guitar lessons for beginners this is even easier! Just type in the search bar; Guitar lessons beginners
Select the video you find most appropriate for yourself and get to learning!
If your interested in lead guitar or soloing just follow the same basic steps and type in the search bar; lead guitar lesson, or guitar solo lesson
There are many helpful videos that should get you on your way to achieving your goals on guitar. If your a visual learner like I am these should help you on your way!
If you feel like you learn more from reading basic instructions there are many helpful free sites you can learn from such as; www.ultimate-guitar.com/lessons
Helpful Tips
* Learn how to read guitar tablature aka Guitar Tabs You can probably find a link on youtube for this as well but if you learn how to read tabs you can eventually learn how to play any song by searching for it on the web.
* Learn your Major Chords! This one I cannot stress enough! If you learn how to play your major chords you'll be well on your way to playing almost any song you want to! A good system for starting out on major chords is called the CAGED system. Just do a search on google for; CAGED system guitar lessons
