As you all know, Beijing has already became a very modern and international city. Especially I felt after 2008 Olympic Games here, there are definitely more foreign expats, visitors, or students here. And most of them want to stay longer, be a part of this fast developing country. Here i would like to share some info and tips of the job market here in China.
The best way to find a job in China is by using personal contacts who work for a company in China that might need someone with your skills. If you aren’t blessed with such guan xi (connection), then the easiest way to find a job is via Internet.
There are plenty of job listing websites available in China. Here I list most of the very useful websites:
www.monster.com (mostly American and multinational companies advertise)
www.zhaopin.com/ www.51job.com/ www.chinahr.com (more Chinese companies jobs posting)
And there are also plenty other classified websites with the job info. Such as: www.thebeijinger.com/ www.craigslist.com/ www.cityweekend.com
If you’re already in China, you can also check out the classifieds in the English speaking magazines. Such listings are targeted at foreigners, but most of them are only for part-time or contract work.
www.foreignhr.com(good
site only providing jobs for foreigners)
www.ithrnet.com (IT professionals)
www.cnhotjobs.com (International jobs)
www.esljobs.cn (foreign teaching jobs)
Teaching positions in China
Finding a teaching job is probably the easiest one for foreigners. English teaching education is blooming in China. The teaching jobs are available at kindergarten, middle schools, high schools, universities and a lot of private language schools, also training for adults who want to improve their English. They are normally advertised with e-mail and telephone contacts, either by the school directly or through a agency.
