How to Follow Twitter Uses
54
Once you sign up for Twitter, you begin to learn the lingo. In order to use the service and send out status updates, you have to tweet. Those status updates are actually called tweets. As long as you are using 140 characters or less, you can share whatever you are doing with whoever may be following you. Instead of friends on Twitter, you actually have followers who you approve to follow or "friend" you. They are your followers.
In order for you to follow someone, you simply go to their profile. From there, you will be able to see if the person's profile is private or public. If it is public, you can read tweets right away but if it is private, they will have to accept your request to follow them before you can browse their tweets. Click the Follow tab, and a little box will pop up below it that lets you know that you are following that user. It also will give you the option to have those tweets sent to your cell phone directly or not.
There are several ways to find users to follow. You can search for them via various e-mail services right from Twitter and you can find users who share similar interests to you via the web site, too. If these are not helping you, you can solicit Twitter user names from friends and give out yours as well to connect.
Following Twitter users is the best way to keep up to date with family, friends and coworkers. It is also a way for those around you to stay in touch with you, comment on your daily life and follow you. This should be one of the first ways to get involved in the Twitter community. Take advantage of following as many Twitter users as possible to get the most out of tweeting.
