How to Raise Your HubPages Score

How to Get Higher Scores on HubPages
How to Get Higher Scores on HubPages. You get higher scores on HubPages by writing good quality articles with relevant content to your topic and audience. HubPages scores articles higher when then the content has originality and receive interaction within the HubPage online community.
A quality article is an article that topic is interesting and is about something that people in everyday living would like to read about. There are a few HubPage writers who have experimented by using popular keywords throughout their article, thinking that their scores on HubPage will get higher. Keywords are not the way to increase your HubPage Score. Concentrating on keywords more often than not will stray you from the main topic. You may get banned from HubPages if you use keywords just to enhance readership. Therefore write with disregard to keywords and let the Google crawler pick out the words that internet surfers are using.
The number of visitors to your website does not increase your HubScore. The only thing that will increase your HubPage Score is orginality and quality writing with relevance to your intended audience. The more content that you put on HubPages that is relevant and have a density of about 1500 words will make your article a quality written work. Information provided in a conversational tone will garnish an article that people will visit your online address to read. with a response. The more that you write on HubPages, the better your chances of getting a higher hubpage score.
The HubPage staff are saying that at least 3 photos and 5 videos should be added to the article to ceate a quality article. From personal experience, too many videos take away from the readership and either the reader will view the video and not read the article or they will not view the video and just read the article. Photos or images taken from Yahoo and Google home page are better to use as you want the reader to enjoy reading smoothly throughout the article without too many sound distractions. Videos are great if it is relevant to the article. If your choose to use videos, place them at the end of the article so that the reader will not be distracted. Again, unless the video is relevant such as an article about YouTube or videography, too many videos are too distracting and will not raise your HubScore. Google does not read images but moves about the article's written text.
The Hubscore on the article is going to be less than the hubscore placed near the avitar on the HubPage home page. Do not concern yourself with the article score as it may be discouraging if you are a new beginner. Do not look at the score as a grade from a test at school. The numbers are placed by the Hubpage scorer based sometimes entirely on the number word count. The score near he avitar is more important because the rating reflects the contents of the articles written as a whole. If you write at least three articles a day, consistently, of good quality written content, your hubpage score will increase.
Another important factor in writing on HubPages is the interaction between the writers in the comment section of the page. Writing with good quality content with relevance to the topic and the intended audience will reward you with a higher hubscore. Be consistent in your daily writing and write long quality articles on interesting topics and be encouraged that the numbers on your hubpage will increase.

Thanks for clarifying some of the mystery around hub scores!
dr c, thank you for your comment. Glad I was able to help learn more about the Hubpage scores.
Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it.
mary, thank you for your comment.
After you raise your score to an acceptable level does it drop back down if you remain inactive or will it maintain once you do the work for it?
Google Biz Kit, thank you for your comment and your question. If you notice there are two hub scores, one for the article and one for your quality of writing that is placed beside your avitar (the picture you choose to represent as yourself located to the upper right corner of the hubpage). That Hubscore will waiver between two or four points depending on your quality of writing and your relevance of writing to your intended audience. The more quality content you add, both scores will increase.
You should write in accordance with the guidelines of the help modules provided by Hubpages. Read all the help modules and hubbers'comments that will help you to write quality articles. Visit the forum often to interact with the hubbers who in real time, have excellent suggestions on improving your written work on Hubpages.
If you write an article that only get a few readers, the avitar score may drop one to four points. You should not just to be adding content for the sake of trying to increase both scores. The written articles must have quality. You should write following the Hubpage guidelines of what constitutes a good hub because you do not want your score to decrease.
The score beside the article is important but not as important as the one that the other hubbers can see readily. The other hubbers see the numbered score beside your avitar. The score beside your avitar indicates your quality of writing. The longer you stay with Hubpages producing quality articles, your writer's score will increase.
Most Hubpage readers do not look at the score of the article although the score is there for them see. Hubpage readers usually look for an interesting topic and a topic of relevance.
The Hubpage staff did not see the importance of categorizing the articles by scores. This indicates that though the article score is important, it is not that important to make a categorization of hubscore articles by scores.
There is not a listing of all articles that has a score of 100 for example. There is; however, Hubpage authors who have scored near 100 as writers and is separated with the distinction of having Featured Articles.
There is categories of topics in a cloud-like presentation for hubbers to click on their topic of interest. Also at the top of the HubPage you see there are listings for Topics, Q&A, Hubs, Hubbers and Hubtivity; there is no topic indicating the scores of the hub articles that are listed. The hub score of the articles do not carry as much weight as the overall quality of the writer's overall score placed beside the avitar.
You will find also that the longer you stay with Hubpages and consistently write good quality and relevant hubs, that your writer'hub score will improve and increase. The score besides the article are less important because readers are reading the article for content and not because of the article score.
Google indicators are mostly counting how many Google Adsense key words that you type. The readers nor Google Adsense is concerned with the hub score of the article. That is why it is very important to write a lengthy article with relevant keywords. Although your goal is to write a quality, relevant article; Google's goals is to search the article for keywords that will cause a reader to click on an ad for monetization.
Google has to make money to remain the number one search engine on the internet. Google does this by using Google technology to search for keywords that people are using to search for information. Once the information is found and an ad is placed where the content is read, the reader may click on the ad. Once the Google reader clicks on the ad, Google will reward you, the writer of the article or hub, in Google earnings.
If you choose to disseminate your hubpage articles to social media like Twitter or FaceBook, the hub score will not follow or the writer's hub score. Readers outside of the Hubpage community do not need to know the score of the article or of the writer. These readers outside of the hubpages community is interested in reading an exciting and interesting article with relevance to them.
It is reasonable to write that the topic is of much importance when writing an article rather than concentrating on what score Google will award you. When you write, do not think of what the article will be scored, concentrate the content of your writing making sure your topic will intrigue the reader to open and read. When the reader open and read the hub, he or she should be introduced to interesting and relevant content.
As the hubpage writer, your concern is to attract readers with the production of quality articles. Hubpages have over 500,000 members and you can very well get a good readership from the community. Some hubpage readers look at your writer's score on the avitar to see if your article is worth their time reading and placing a comment. Since the information is available to them, some Hubpage readers do in fact use their own analytics to see if it is worth their time to read and visit your other hub articles.
If you noticed, the Hubpage Staff features writers with scores in the upper nineties range. I have been a featured writer and recorded the dates in my Hubpage profile as milestones. The Hubpage readers after seeing your writer's score placed near your avitar will then look at your hubs by topic and category instead of by hubpage article score. That is why it is more important that you concentrate on interesting, exciting, relevant and provocative topics that will cause the Hubpage readers to want to read your articles.
Concentrate on writing lengthy, quality and relevant artices consistency and with frequency. I will throw in this cheat sheet and say that in addition to writing relevant content, Hubpage staffers suggest that you include at least three photos and up to 5 videos of relevance to your article with a 1,500 word count.
As you are writing on the internet, be specific in your topic. Your writer's score beside the avitar will increase with a good specific topic coupled with relevant content. A hub score in the upper nineties makes the hubbers stop and to take notice that your hubpage article is worth their time reading and responding.
Read the hubpage help guidelines and follow through with what you read to produce good quality articles. Your hub score for articles and the all important score as a writer placed beside your avitar on Hubpages Home Page will definitely improve. Get on a routine schedule with the number of good relevant articles you plan to write on a day to day basis. Both your hub score and writer score will rise to the nineties and even to 100 if you use this information to improve on your writing content for quality and relevance.

excellent information!
kmackey32, thank you for your comment. I hope the information in How to Get Your Hubscore to 100 helps you.
This is all fascinating as I am writing my first Hubpage, so thanks for telling me not to worry about the score. Funny but I've thought that my articles at 600-800 words are too long, and that I should try to shorten them up as few readers today will read that much material, i.e. I use lots of bold to help them scan for relevant information that meets immediate need. 1500 words is easier to write than 800, or 500 ... and they can all deliver essentioally the same amount of information. I'll have to think about this, i.e. is the greater number of words needed to support more advertising on the right?
tinagleisner, thank you for your comment. In the heyday of the computer, interenet users would only surf and scan information instead of actually reading the content. Now that computers are mobile with the advent of laptop computers and the prices have decreased, there are more internet users. People are reading entire articles and are looking for more to do on the computer than to only search for information.
Blogs and writing sites such as Hubpages give the reader an informative and enjoyable forum on which to read about their interests. Once these readers find relevance that pertains to their everyday living, they are no longing skimming over reading information. Readers are now reading entire articles so your 1500 hubpage article will get readership.
Written relevant content of 1500 words are being read on a daily basis because people will read content of interest to them. An 800 page hubpage article is adequate but why settle for adequacy when you can do more. If you are interested in using Google Adsense, then the 1500 word hubpage is even more useful to you. The Google Adsense "bot" looks for keywords and phrases that add daily to your earnings as long a you are a Hubpage member. Why not write 1500 words on a topic of interest to your audience not only to inform them but also to earn more passive income.
When you write relevant hubpage artices using keywords and phrases from the Google Keyword Search Engine Tool, you will be amazed at how easy it is to write 1500 words. Remember to answer the questions who, what, where, why, how, and when in your hubpage artice to write a complete article.
Proofread your work and you may add more content to your article as you may want to elaborate more on a subject of interest. Writing for advertisements is not your mission as a hubpage writer but is an added plus foradditional earnings. Do not write the 1500 word article if you can convey your ideas and information with fewer words although you are encouraged to.
Follow the information in the Hubpage Help modules for additional knowledge on writing for relevance. Continuing to write your hubpage with interesting relevant content will keep your hubscore at a satisfactory level. The longer you write for Hubpages and the more you write for Hubpages increases your hubscore. Do not concentrate on your hubpage score, however, because then your writing may diminish in creativity. Use the Google Analytics to follow the progress of your hubpages and write more on the topics that generate the most traffic.
Whenever you go over someone's house, you have to follow the rules of their household. That is why it is important that you educate yourself on what Hubpages expect from you as a hubpage writer with optimization. Basically, Hubpage request an article of 1500 words with at least three photos and five videos. Hubpages is not only interested in distributing relevant content, there is also an interest in keeping readers coming back to the reading site.
Use this information to get an understanding of how to write your hubpage article in the most optimal manner and a sufficient amount of verbage..
Thanks for this - you shed some light on the mystery of HubPage scoring for me. Hopefully I can start to push my score up a bit higher now :-)
HWP, thank you for your comment. You can easily push your hubscore to 100. I have confidence in you.
I just signed up for Hubpages and having no idea what that little number meant, read through quite a few articles. I just want to say thanks for the quality information you have shared here. It's exactly what I was looking for!

This a wonderful informative hub!
You have given some very helpful suggestions.
Thank you for sharing.
Blessings!
DeBorrah K. Ogans, thank you for your comment. How to Raise Your Hub to 100 is top ranked after my Hubpage address on Google. I am glad that you found the information contained useful.
Great hub! I'm new to the site and hate having a 49 slapped on my face and am desperate to raise it. Now I know how. :)
ViktoriaGrace, thank you for your comment.
Your hubscore will increase with the more quality hubpages that you write. Read my profile and see how long it took me to get a 100 as a hubscore.
If you do not like the low score as most do, concentrate on your writing and hubpages will respond accordingly. Your comment is much appreciated. Do not get discouraged and keep writing.
Interesting post! Now I know how to make my score higher because it dropped down from 77 to 74 in three days and it made me wonder why.
johnjones, thank you for your comment. The hubscore will change with a six point variation depending on the traffic. If you produce quality, original and relevant artiles on a daily basis you have a better chance of keeping your score from spiralling downward.
Great hub! This is very useful information. You're the first top hubber to mention that including too many videos and photos can be distracting to your readers. You're right! It's also very time consuming to find and post many quality videos and photos for your hubs. I'm glad I found this hub -- it's going to save me a lot of time. I just started writing for this site a couple of days ago and I only have 2 hubs at this time. I would rather write more quality articles that waste a lot of time trying to follow the rules for writing a flagship hub. Thanks, Linda!
allie8020, thank you for your comment. Your acknowledgement of hubpage membership as a top hubber is also greatly appreciated. I reread the hubpage article and after ten month membership agree with the information in the article. I am glad I was of help as you start your hubpage adventure. Welcome, you are off to a good start.
Helpful, thanks. I am a "newbie" on here so this helps to know. Can you add more content and raise your score then later for an article?
festersporling1, thank you for your comment.
