How to Get Rid of Cellulite Naturally
76Cellulite is a skin condition that affects over ninety percent of woman over the age of thirty. Woman of all shapes and sizes can develop the skin condition. The question of how to get rid of cellulite is more commonly discussed than how to prevent premature aging.
Cellulite, also known as orange peel skin, is a condition that usually effects the hips, buttocks and outer thighs, but can also be found on the abdomen, upper back and upper arms characterized by dimpled, bumpy skin. More complex than ordinary fat in its composition, it combines fat with toxins and fluids that form a gel like substance beneath the skin’s surface. Woman are usually only concerned with the attractive physical appearance of the condition, but it is also a sign of an unhealthy lifestyle that is causing the accumulation of toxic cellular waste.
The main contributors are unhealthy diet, inadequate water intake, smoking, lack of exercise, poor digestion, poor liver function, stress, hormonal imbalances, allergies and constipation. Getting rid of cellulite will take some determination. The most effective treatment is a healthy diet and exercise. This combination is very effective for weight loss and muscle toning, which usually brings about a reduction in cellulite.
The easiest way to make lifestyle changes is to do it gradually. Try keeping a record of everything you eat throughout the day. Choose an item that you feel you could exchange for something more healthy and natural. Wait a couple more days and replace another food with something healthier. Continue the process every few days until you have made major improvements to your diet. Foods to avoid include candy, baked goods, white flour products, soft drinks, dairy products (except for plain organic yogurt), red meat, fried foods, high salt foods, foods with additives and preservatives, processed foods and hydrogenated vegetable oils.
A healthy diet should include a daily salad with a good selection of healthy vegetables and a healthy dressing, plenty of whole grains and fresh fruit, wild fish once or twice a week, herbal tea combination's such as red clover, dandelion, burdock and ginger for detoxification and eight glasses of purified water daily. Adequate daily water is essential for the cleansing of toxins from the body. Liver is the body’s number one fat burner. A liver cleanse will ensure that the liver is working at peak levels, which will increase the bodies ability to get rid of cellulite. Liver cleanse kits are available online or at your local health store.
Proper exercise is one of the best ways to get rid of cellulite because it causes weight loss and detoxifies the body which is essential for cellulite control. Adding weight lifting before an aerobic workout is the most effective way to sustain a calorie burn long after you have finished your workout. If you are not used to exercising, start by taking a short walk, gradually increasing the pace and length of your walk each day.
There is much hype these days about miracle creams claiming to be the answer to cellulite. Unfortunately, many of these creams have proven to be ineffective, but there are some that are producing positive results. The best way to determine whether a cream will help is by looking at the ingredients. Ingredients must be known to increase thickness of the skin, improve circulation, fight free radicals and smooth skin appearance. Ingredients known to have one or more of these traits are coleus extract, theophylline, yeast extract peptides, caffeine and natural cocoa. Recent studies have found that creams with these ingredient have had remarkable results at creating smoother skin and reducing thigh size.
There are several approaches you can take to combat cellulite, but the most effective by far, is a lifestyle change which includes a healthy diet, proper exercise and the right combination of topical creams.
