I know that getting a lot of traffic to read our articles whether on blogs, hubpages, websites or any other sites is important to make money online. The problem is that getting a lot of traffic to our articles is a headache for most of us. We can get little traffic to our site but we can't get a lot of traffic to our site, so what more to say making money from it.

Without traffic to our site/pages, making money from it will be quite impossible. We need to get our contents or products viewed by others in order to promote sales or clicks to make money.

Traffic is the lifeblood of a site and the amount of traffic to a site will determine how good the site is and how the site could help the owner to make money.

So, I decided to write this hub to share some of my methods to get traffic and make money from my articles and blogs.

1. Leave Comments on Hub and Blogs:

This is basically the easiest way to get your sites, hubs or blogs seen by other people. Make sure you are leaving comments because you are interested on the topic discussed by the hubs, blogs and sites.

Do not leave comments for the sake of getting traffic. If you do so, you will not get best effect to get traffic using this method.

2. Links from other Sites:

If possible, try to get as many links to our blogs, sites or hubs as possible. Remember that every link that link back to our sites will be the road for visitors to visit your sites.

So, try to get links for your sites by exchanging links. The more links you exchange with other sites, the higher the possibility to get more traffic.

In addition, the more link from other sites will help you increase popularity of your site as more and more routes will help you bring people to your site easily.

For example:

You have your website linked by 10 websites. So, people will see your link on those 10 sites and they might click on it and come to your site. What if you have 100 websites linking your site?

So, more and more people will be abel to see your site from other sites. Those provide more routes to your site and get a lot of traffic for free.

3. Social Networking:

You could you social network sites to get traffic too. I am sure that you are a member of social network sites.

Examples of social network sites are:

• Facebook
• Friendster
• MySpace
• Orkut
• BlogCatalog
• MyBlogLog
• Twitter
• and a lot more...

These are the place to help you drive traffic to your site. You could place the links to your site at these social network sites and try to inform your friends to visit your site. This will be a good way to promote your site.

4. Social Bookmarking sites:

You can get more traffic by using social bookmarking sites too. Social bookmarking sites are sites that we use to keep our bookmarks online and share it with all the people in our social bookmarking network.

We can make new friends and find our friends using social bookmarking sites and then we share our bookmarks amongst each other.

Examples of social bookmarking sites are:

• StumbleUpon
• Digg
• Furl It
• del.icio.us
• Spurl
• SlashDot
• Technorati
• and a lot more...

Social bookmarking sites are a good place to share your bookmarks and of course, you can use it to share your sites or hubs too.

5. Advertising:

Advertising is not free and it will cost some money to help you improve the traffic to your sites or blogs. I don't think you would want to use this technique to drive traffic to your hubs because it would be very costly.

You could use Google AdWords, Text Link Ads, buy ads space on other sites and so on.

If you are planning to use this method, make sure you learn in detail about the advertising service that you are going to use. If you are not doing it properly, then it might produce negative return. You will end up losing money rather than making money.

6. Contents Optimization:

People are finding information on the internet. Information and great contents is the thing people are looking for on the internet. So, you need to create good contents which will create good impression for people reading your contents.

People will keep on coming back to you and look for more good quality contents and they might help you promote your contents too.

Remember: Creating good contents are the keys to get a lot of traffic online. Word of mouth of people will help you spread your contents fast and through out the internet.

You will see improvement on your traffic and a lot of people will start flooding your site to find for information.

Of course, you will make a lot of money from it too. So, optimize the quality your contents and sure you are writing for the sake of giving information not for money.

7. Article Submission:

You might hear a lot about articles submission. Articles submission means that you submit your articles to sites that receive articles and help you publish your articles on their sites.

The best part about article submission is that you can publish your articles on much more popular sites to help you spread your knowledge. You could place some links on the articles that will directly link to your site. This way the traffic at those article submission sites will come to your site and of course, this way will help you get more audience and make more money too.

Some articles submission sites are:

• eZine Articles
• And so on..

These sites have higher traffic and have good search engines ranking. So, submit your articles to these sites will surely help you get traffic from these sites for free.

8. Offline marketing:

We can promote our site while we are offline. You can try to place a link to your site on your name card. So, when you are exchanging name card with other people, they will be know that you have a website and some of them might visit your site to have a look.

When they visit your site, it is time to show your writing skill. It is the contents of your site that will keep them coming back. So, please make sure you follow the tips #6 in this hub.

For me, I am using car stickers to promote my blogs. I will design and create stickers for my blogs and paste it on my car. So, I can promote my blogs whenever I am driving. You could visit my blogs too.

Conclusion:

There are more ways to get traffic to your site and help your site make thousands of ripples on the internet. Finally, you will be able to make a lot of money online.

Make sure that your site's contents are good, so that it can be word of mouth of people visiting your site. Soon, traffic to your site will be increasing exponentially and you will be able to make more money.
