How to Get the Best Deals for an Orlando Vacation in 2010
71Thinking about a getaway to Orlando in 2010? Whether you’re traveling with a large family or going solo, you can enjoy Disney World and major Orlando attractions on almost any budget when you track down the lowest rates on hotel rooms, theme park tickets and packages. When you’re planning an Orlando vacation in 2010, here’s how to get the best deals on hotels, airfare theme park tickets and attractions:
1. Book an Orlando vacation package instead of single tickets. If you know you want to spend most of your time at the Walt Disney World Resort or at Universal Studios for your 2010 Orlando vacation, consider purchasing a hotel and theme park package instead of buying tickets separately. You can find 4-day hotel and theme park tickets for as little as $300 per person, and many of these include shuttle transfer to the parks, a breakfast buffet and other perks.
2. Volunteer and get a free day at Disney. Disney World is running the “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” promotion for people who are willing to volunteer for a select organization in their area. Volunteers who successfully complete their community service day will receive a complimentary one-day ticket to Walt Disney World. More information about this program can be found here.
3. Purchase a theme park annual pass during the holiday season. Both Disney and Universal Studios offer a discounted annual pass package during the holiday season, taking as much as $50 or more off the standard rate. These passes give you year-round admission for a flat fee, and the savings will add up if you plan on making several trips to Orlando in 2010. The discounted passes are typically unveiled over Thanksgiving week.
4. Monitor prices on Orlando vacation package sites. Websites such as GoVacationsOrlando.com offer discounted packages for theme parks and attractions with your hotel room booking, and also promise the lowest price guaranteed. You can find several packages with attractive hotel options including the Radisson Worldgate and Convention Center, and Disney World’s maingate at an affordable price for your 2010 Orlando vacation.
5. Get a GO Orlando card. If you’re planning to stay in Orlando for several days for your 2010 vacation, consider purchasing the Go Orlando Card to get access to some of the major attractions. You pay a single fee for the card and get free admission to popular attractions including the American Police Hall of Fame, the Kennedy Space Center, Bass Museum of Art, WonderWorks and Titanic: The Experience amongst others. The full listing of attractions that you have access to can be found here.
6. Purchase multi-day hopper passes at a discount. Disney 5-day hopper passes can be purchased at a price of a 3-day hopper pass for your 2010 vacation through several online ticket sites. These tickets have some limitations, and usually expire about 14 days after their first use. However, they’re a great deal if you plan on spending a good portion of your 2010 Orlando vacation at Disney World.
