How to Grill Oysters

Grilled, baked, smoked, roasted or steamed oysters are a popular appetizers, and easily cooked on the grill. If you don't live close to the coast, you can have fresh oysters delivered overnight almost anywhere in the 48 contiguous United States, and abroad as well.
Ingredients:
Raw oysters, washed
4 butter
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley.
Hot sauce, if desired
Directions for grilled, baked or roasted oysters
Place oysters on a hot grill. Cook for five minutes, until the oyster shells open.
Remove from the grill, pry open and carefully remove the top shell, being careful not to spill the juices.
Saute the garlic in melted butter for two minutes. Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice and parsley.
Spoon a small amount of the butter mixture over each of the roasted or grilled oysters. Return to the grill and cook for an additional five minutes.
Directions for Steamed Oysters
Place whole, clean oysters on a hot grill. If using wood or charcoal, make sure there is a good bed of very hot coals, and no flames.
Cover the oysters with a wet burlap bag. Cook covered until oysters begin to open.
Remove oysters from the grill.
Carefully remove the top shell.
Spoon butter mixture over oysters.
Return to grill, uncovered, and cook for 5 minutes.
Serve.
