How to Grill with Charcoal

Your first move for safety is to always use a charcoal grill outdoors.  If you are starting your charcoal grill using match light charcoal and then pouring lighter fluid on the charcoal -- you have make a mistake.

Most people problems, when it comes to barbecue and grilling, is that they are impatient.   Most people start their charcoal grill with "easy light" charcoal -- which is already soak in lighter fluid.  Then they use even more lighter fluid to start their charcoal grill.  And then they put their food on the charcoal grill to fast -- resulting in food that taste just like charcoal lighter fluid.  The right way is to start the "easy light" charcoal as instructed on the package and wait 20 minutes before putting your food on the charcoal grill.

The Best Way to Start Your Charcoal Grill

The best way to start a charcoal grill is with a chimney starter.  A chimney starter allows you to start a charcoal grill easily and without lighter fluid.  Using a chimney starter creates a more even burn.  To use a chimney starter you will need to put newspaper in the bottom of the starter.  Then load your charcoal in the top of the chimney starter.  Now it's time to light the charcoal (from the bottom of the chimney starter). Once your charcoal is over in ash your charcoal is ready to be bumped into your charcoal grill. Now you are ready to have a "charcoal grill" meal.
