How to Have the American Dream
53
To most people, the American Dream consists of loving what you do, helping other people, firing your boss, working from home, work when and where you want and have an extra $10,000 left over each month after you pay your bills. I definitely would say that is the American Dream. So is it really within everyone's reality to actually be able to live the American Dream? That answer is a definite yes!
Now you are probably wondering how on earth you can achieve these goals for any normal person who is stuck in a situation where they think they can never escape. Here are a few steps you need to take in order to move toward living the American Dream:
1) Change the way you view things:
People who have a burning desire to change their current circumstances will. In other words, people can day dream all they want about what life can be like but in order to change your current situation, you have to change the way you think about things. If you keep doing what you always do, you will continue to get what you have always gotten.
2) Do what you love to do:
Most people that really love what they do for a living are the most successful people in the world. You may think to yourself, well how can I do what I love for a living? What ever it is, it can always be incorporated into a full time job. You may love to write and have always wanted to be a writer. Try doing that in your spare time and before you know it, you've written your first book. Maybe you love to work with animals. Think about creating a website that either sell products for animals or will help animals that you love. If you really want to change your life you will start looking at other options in your spare time.
3) Help other people:
By adding value to other people's lives, you will get the same in return. Have you ever heard the saying that the more you give to others, the more of the same you will get in return. Some may think that is just plain ridiculous but it happens on a daily basis. Just remember, it always starts with the small things.
4) Work when and where you want:
By loving what you do and becoming successful, you will then have the luxury of working when and wherever you want. Yes, these things take time but if you have a burning desire to really change your life for the better so that you can live the American Dream, then anything is possible. You just have to believe in yourself enough in order to make it a reality.
You really can be whoever you want to be, it's up to you. You are the only one that can change your current situation and become the person you have always wanted to be. There are communities that can help you learn how to start changing the way you think about things and start realizing that you can have everything that you have always wanted. Everyone deserves to live their American Dream.
