RAM (Random-access memory) is a volatile memory and your computer's performance much depends on RAM. RAM is considered "random access" because you can access any memory cell directly if you know the row and column that intersect at that cell. For boosting your computer speed or to increase the performance of your computer, you must care about RAM. But how to determine whether your computer requires more RAM? Is there any way do you know? If not, then you come to the correct page. This page tells you the way to determine whether your computer requires more RAM or not. It's very easy process and you don't need anyone to do so. Just keep reading...
How to Identify that Your Computer Needs More RAM?
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys all together and you will see that Windows Task Manager Window will be opened soon. From the Windows Task Manager window, click on Performance tab. Under the performance tab, you will see some graphs of CPU usage and Page File Usage. Below the graphs, there are some information. There is a box labeled as Physical Memory(K).Below the Physical Memory there you find Total and a value beside "Total". This value is the actual physical memory i.e. the RAM.. The value is shown here in Kilobytes. If you want to convert the value to Megabytes (MB), just divide the value by 1024 and you will get the value in MB.
Now come to the value of Commit Charge's Total value. If this value is higher than Physical Memory's Total value, then you need some additional amount memory. By adding this additional amount memory, your computer might have a significance performance boost. So, try to add some additional memory which will give you the significance performance boost of your computer.
Now, look the box below that at left side. The box is named as Commit Charge (K). This box contains some information about the total memory being used. You will notice Peak
under that. Peak means the total memory used since the last reboot. If
this value is lower than the Physical Memory total, you don't need any
additional memory.
By following the above steps, you can easily identify whether your computer need to install any additional memory. Hope, you find it very easily.

Thanks for your instructions.
I however have my Physical Total at 1GB and my Commit Charge Peak at 1.5GB and Commit Total at 1.1GB.
I understand this means I need more RAM, but why is my Physical Available 500MB then?
