One of the easiest ways to pay for an eBay purchase without worrying about your credit card information getting into the wrong hands is to link a PayPal account to your eBay account.  A PayPal account is a type of online-only banking service that lets you filter transactions – including the act of sending and receiving money – through them as opposed to through your credit card, bank account or other financial service.  This means that your actual accounts are more secure when dealing with people you have not done business with before.

First, you want to login to your eBay account and click on the My eBay link at the top of any page.  Then, click on the Account tab and then the PayPal account link should appear on the left side of that particular page.  Once there, you want to click on the Link My PayPal Account link.  You will then be required to verify things on PayPal's end of things.  Once that step is down, your eBay account will be linked to your PayPal account and you will be able to use that as an instant payment option on any auctions.
