Hd Radio is the new radio format in North America that offers more crystal clear radio. It also lets stations send more than just audio throughout their transmissions. Unfortunately due to the highly promoted satellite radio has overshadowed the move to HD radio, yet it does exist and already many stations have already moved over into the new format. For a list of stations supporting the new HD format, visit here. http://www.ibiquity.com/hdradio_find_a_station . This will show you a listening of whether or not there is an HD radio station near you. Now that you've determined a nearby HD station, how do you listen to? You'll need an HD player capable of receiving HD encoding radio signals.

The Radiosophy HD100 Digital HD Radio Receiver

This device retails for $99 and is used as a home unti for tuning into quality HD radio. This the perfect low cost option for getting connecting with HD radio. Though unfortunately not every station has made the switch to HD, but that doesn't matter since Radiosophy supports also normal AM and FM stations allowing up to 5 preset stations to be saved.

The JVC Deck with Built-In HD Radio Tuner

You are probably looking to be able to listen to HD radio more than just at home. The JVC in car audio deck supports this exact purpose. You can tune into not only hiss free digital radio, but also standard AM and FM radio stations. Getting tired of the radio? The thing I like most about the JVC deck is it's support of MP3 cds. This lets you have a wide variety of options to listen to in your car without repeating the same cd over and over for that long trip down to Florida. It retails for $123.89 on Amazon.com.
