How to Lose 10 to 20 Pounds in Two Months

If you want to lose 10 to 20 pounds in two months, you must be in the proper mindset like beginning a race. You must began to use all your knowledge that you know about calories and exercise. It is the American way to lose weight so you should have a general idea of how to lose weight. People have lost hundreds of pounds, literally another person, but it took them one to two years to drop the weight. Two months or sixty days should be a breeze but experience tells us that these are the pounds that are hardest to lose.

These few pounds are difficult to lose because carrying around a few extra pounds never hurt anyone, right? Carrying around ten to twenty pounds of fat may be the beginning of adding many more pounds of fat.  So beware.  You must rid yourself of those pounds to keep  your weight from escalating.

At this moment, go and look at your high school graduation picture or the picture you took on your wedding day. Where did those ten to twenty pounds come from that you are carrying around today. Life just happened, right? Life has been here since creation, what happened is that your life became more sedentary as you worried more with raising kids than about yourself. You do not have to give in to life demands by grabbing a pastry every morning with a sweetened beverage. You have to make the choice that you are going to take care of yourself first so that you can raise your kids properly. Your kids are watching you and they are learning as much from school books as from how you are living your life. So get in the mindset to be healthy and to have an active lifestyle.

It is amazing that overweight parents wants Oprah to help their overweight kids to lose weight. Oprah is not at the root of why the kids are overweight. But the TV audience with their reality show minds are looking at the overweight parents and saying to themselves, why don't the parents lose weight?  The kids would have a chance to be able to tie their shoes when they are grown if the parents will lose weight themselves.

Enough on why How to Lose 10 to 20 Pounds in Two Months has to be written on Hubpages. We know that most Americans are overweight and the contributing factor is lack of exercise because of sedentary lifestyles, overeating, and overweight parents. Let's answer the question how to lose 10 to 20 pounds using all the store up information that we know of but never find the time to lose. Yet certain reality shows we dare not miss and never thought of dragging the dusty exercise equipment to work out in front of those cute guys on The Office.

How to Lose 10 to 20 Pounds in Two Months

Start with a journal and write down your weight loss goal. Your goal is not 10 to 20 pounds. Your goal is two pounds. What happened to 10 to 20 pounds? You are going to take one week at a time like alcoholics take one day at a time. Daily exercise for twenty to thirty minutes doing the exercise of your choice. You have exercised thirty minutes before. Recall what you did and repeat the routine for the next two months and then work on maintenance.

Aerobics exercise is best such as walking, running or bicycling. It is your choice because you are the one who has to do the exercise. Do not miss a day. If you miss a day then you start exercising every 2nd day of the week and before you know it, you are not exercising at all. So exercise for twenty to thirty minutes every day including weekends. On the weekends, try to do something fun like tennis, softball, or basketball so that your weekly exercise will be more of a routine. Got it? Okay before you exercise remember to warmup or stretch for a few minutes and drink plenty of water. If you walk or run, bring your friend a container of bottled water to hydrate should you perspire. Drink your daily allowance of 64 oz which is 8 servings of the small bottled water. If that is too much to keep up with, drink from bigger bottles of water.

Limit you caloric intake to 1200 calories. You should eat fruits and vegetables that is recommended by the food pyramid of 5 servings a day. Frozen vegetables are best and is just as good as fresh. The calories are on the back of the box so the calories is easier to count. Leave the peas out because of its starchness. Dark green leafy vegetables are best for nutrition. Do not eat any thing white such as white rice or potatoes. You know the rules. No sodas because that can contribute to your caloric intake easily because of the ease of consumption. Limit diary products. If you must have milk go for skim milk or 1% fat milk.

If you limit your caloric intake to 400 calories, three times a day with the no eating rule at 7:00 p.m. and have a early night sleep time, 20 pounds in two months is doable. Stay out of the kitchen where the war zone is as much as possible except for your three meals. If you have kids, they will have to get used to eating light also. You can buy light ice cream in today's market. Just remember to write down what you eat and the time everyday.

Weigh yourself the same time only once a week. That is your call. You know when you feel your lightest. To be fair to yourself be consistent with your weight measurement and record your weight also. Your goal is two pounds a week. Learn how to live life being active and not just waiting for your next meal. Get your family involved so that they can guide you out of the kitchen to your exercise equipment. Kids like to tattle tell, if you have them use this tendency wisely.

I like the statement you made that anybody can lose weight. You made a true statement. I was looking at an info commercial about an ab exercise machine that promised a weight loss of 10 pounds in two weeks.

Then I watched the Celebrity Biggest Loser television show where a woman judge was told to lose 9 pounds in two weeks. It would seem to me that if 10 pounds can be lost without purchasing exercise equipment, why buy it?

I think however, that ten pounds is an excessive amount of weight for a two week period and more often than not, the weight loss may be mostly water. After the two week period, the woman judge had lost two pounds and the judges were not pleased.

But in reality, two pounds a week is the optimal weight gain and if the woman judge had lost four pounds in two weeks, the panel should have been happy.

I never try to lose more than two pounds a week because if I do than more than likely, I may overeat to compensate and that would not be good.

mukuna, thank you for your comment. I have written another hubpage article about supplemental vitamins or additions to your weight loss plan as not being beneficial. It is amazing how nature has supplied good foods that can help you lose weight without any processing and manufacturing. Of course, if you believe that nutritional supplements work, then it is to your advantage to use them.

The ends to the means here or the bottom line is good health.
