What you need to know about losing neck fat

Neck fat is a rather tricky area of fat to lose. It can be done, but it is only as easy as it is to lose weight from other area of your body. There are a few exercises that you can do for your neck, but these exercises alone will not cause the total amount of neck fat loss that you may be trying to lose. In the same way, doing crunches alone will not cause all of the abdominal fat loss that you might want to achieve. The point is: it will take full body exercises and a healthy diet to burn all of the calories necessary to burn your neck fat.

One neck exercise that you can do to aid your neck fat loss is a tilt. This tilt can be done in a forward and back direction, or side to side. As the name of the exercise suggests, you will tilt your head forward and back (or left and right) holding each position for a few seconds. Repeat the motion several times.

A rotation involves the action of turning your neck to one side as far as you can. Do this while sitting up straight, and only turn your head. Then turn to the other side. Slowly repeat this action up to 10 times.

More advanced neck exercises can be done using the resistance of your own hands pressing firmly on your head as you tilt. You can also use weighted resistance by getting on the neck machines at the gym.

Even if you do these exercises regularly, you may not lose as much neck fat as you would like. It is important to improve the strength and flexibility of your neck, however, and it can keep you from storing more neck fat. Walking, jogging, sports, and dancing are fun ways that you can burn calories and lose body fat. These exercises will help you to burn enough calories to lose the amount of neck fat that you want to lose. Your body will take away from storage fat areas proportionately, so when you start to lose belly fat (for example) you may also notice that you have lost some neck fat as well. Strength training combined with aerobic activity in your exercise routine can be highly effective in burning fat. With more lean body mass, you will burn more calories even while you sleep! This includes lean mass in your neck area. That is why it is important to vary the types of exercises you do and the muscle groups that you work.

Eating a diet that is lower in saturated fat and sugar will also help you to lose neck fat. Foods that are lower in fat and sugar will have less empty calories, and are less likely to be stored as fat if you eat in moderation. You must be careful not to overeat, even if you are eating healthier foods, because any excess calories you consume and do not burn will be stored as neck fat, or another type of fat such as leg fat.

Monitor your eating habits. May people are often unaware of the amount of calories that they consume. For example, people tend to eat more in front of the television or movie screen. Just by not eating and watching a program at the same time, you can cut back on hundreds of calories. You can burn even more calories by exercising while the television is on, and lose some neck fat. So, keep track of what you eat, do a variety of exercises, and strengthen your neck. You will lose the neck fat that you want to lose, and tone your whole body.
