Making money online has never been what I would call easy. Simple, yes, but not easy. Just the same, if you want to start making a really great amount of money, like 100 dollars a day, you're going to have to do some major work on your attitude and your time management among other things. If you're a complete newbie- no experience with SEO, CPA, PPC, or anything else, then this post will give you a few ways you can get started on your path to making 100 dollars a day.

So most people are probably thinking "I really want to make money fast" and you've been told by guru after guru and scam artist after scam artist that you can make $10,000 in the next fifteen seconds plenty of times, if you're lucky. If your unlucky, and you haven't been through the long hard road of lies yet, then get ready to eat some truth. Don't run away, but instead grit your teeth and realize what it really takes to make any money online- regardless if you aim for $3,000 or $30,000 a month, you need to realize:

• You probably won't make money your first "try". And by that I mean the first web 2.0 property (like this Hubpage or a Squidoo page, or even a Blogger.com or Wordpress.com blog), or your first self hosted website, or even your first Adwords campaign. The fact that you will probably "fail" is simply a law of averages.
  
• You definitely won't make millions your first shot. Okay, so definitely here really means that you have less than a 1 in a billion shot at making tons of money your first time doing anything online. It's just too much to hope for that you can somehow catapault to riches like that, but I admit, there are probably some who do pretty well their first attempt at whatever they attempt.
  
• It takes a lot of work. This is truly a job. You have to put in the hours every day, or every other day, and then keep working as much as you can before you start to see yourself making 100 dollars a day. I'm sure you're thinking "if I wanted to work for a living, I'd stick with my current job!" but keep in mind that you won't always work like a slave. One day you'll have an empire of web properties or pay per click campaigns that will work for you, and you simply have to maintain them. Which will take less time as you move forward and can afford expensive tools and items.
  
• There's a lot to learn. Probably the biggest problem with trying to make money online is that there's so much information out there, and so many different things you can try and do with just one method of making money. For example: Affiliate marketing isn't just selling physical or information goods, it can be selling both. But some people use articles, and others use pay per click, and still others use other methods! It's crazy how much there is out there. Don't be distracted by every shiny little thing, though, and stick to one method first.
  

This will NOT be a comprehensive guide to SEO, instead, it will be a short overview of how you can use it to make money online. Specifically, how you can make 100 dollars a day with search engine optimization.

Most people suggest one of two things when using Search Engine Optimization to make money online. The first way you can accomplish this grueling task is to research several "niches", or miniature congregations of people who have the same general interests (I.E., the make money online niche involves people who like to learn to make money) and then build web pages which you monetize with affiliate programs, Adsense, or selling banner space, among other things. You would build several dozen web properties, each one with several pages, and then each of those pages would have links back to them either from natural linking or, in most cases, work from yourself (I.E. you'd start posting in related forums with a link back to a page on one of your sites). The set up can get kind of confusing and hard to keep track of, but it's a faster way over all to see cash.

The second method is to create a larger, more focused site around a single niche (or maybe one or two others) that has hundreds of pages, each one with its own set of a dozen or more backlinks from yourself as well. Then you'd monetize the same way, but you would only have to worry about upkeep on a single web property, or maybe two or three if you choose to start more than one "authority" site.

The goal for either one would be to pull referral and search traffic to the pages which are monetized. Search traffic being traffic from search engines, mostly Google as it's the biggest contributor to searches worldwide. You can easily make $100 a day if you set up hundreds of highly focused and targeted niche websites with Adsense or affiliate promotions on them. However, you will find that with many smaller sites the workload is tremendous at the start, and it peters down to the point where you don't work as much very slowly.

Just the same, an authority site which can make 100 dollars a day with SEO tactics will get there eventually (unless you choose an unprofitable niche/bad monetization for your niche), but there will likely be many days where you have few earnings early on (think for a few months). But as your site ranks for more keywords (the words people type into Google) and gets more traffic, you'll make more money. Eventually you'll be making $100 a day, and after you get your site built, it'll be rather stand alone in theory. Updating it every now and then will keep you in favor of visitors and readers, but so long as you continue to rank you'll make money.

Both have advantages and disadvantages, just as SEO itself has some advantages compared to media buys or Pay per click advertising. However, if you stick with one path or another in SEO, you will find yourself at $100 a day in no time!

PPC, or Pay per click, is another type of advertising. It is essentially where you skip social and referral traffic and focus on getting targeted traffic by simply buying it. You can make a lot of money with PPC, but you can lose a lot if you don't understand it as well. For instance, you need to know how to properly target your audience, build a converting landing page, and then balance quality score with your cost per click. All of this is if you use Google Adwords, which is the biggest PPC network around. Other networks may be cheaper or easier to understand, but the traffic they bring is minimal compared to Adwords.

PPC has a lot of advantages and disadvantages as well. While it may seem simple compared to SEO, where you have to learn about link building and anchor texts, and Page Rank, and so much more, you still have a lot to learn. PPC can also be very costly- highly competitive keywords can run for $10 per click or more! To get 100 clicks (a bare minimum needed for a conversion is consider 1%, so this would be one sale of a product at least) you'd pay $1000!

While it may seem ludicrous, it actually makes sense in some cases- Imagine selling a vehicle via PPC? If you get a 10% commission, then you would make way more than you spend even at the lowly 1% conversion! Imagine creating an optimized landing page that converts up to 5% of visitors!!

Naturally you have to start with lower amounts, but you work your way to making 100 dollars a day pretty quickly, and if you make $100 a day, then you just keep scaling. This is the theory behind using PPC advertising. After a campaign is fully optimized and you get the most bang for your buck, you can just let it run and make money literally automatically day in and day out!
