Ice Cream with Ease

Mmm... ice cream. Who doesn't love it? I know I do.

But how to make your own? Like most pursuits, making your own ice cream is easy with the right equipment.

So relax, lazy beginners like me, and take in this short read -- how to make ice cream.

How to Make Ice Cream -- The Cheap, Easy, and Green Way

  • Get a Play & Freeze Ice Cream Maker,
  • Also known as "The Ice Cream Ball".
  • Price range for these is about $17.00-to-$31.00.
  • (It comes in Original Size or Mega.)
  • The Ice Cream Ball is made of durable plastic.
  • You put ice and rock salt in one part of the ball,
  • and your ice cream ingredients in the other.
  • Get a kid to roll, shake, gently toss, and otherwise play with the ice cream ball.
  • (Why do that part yourself? Kids love it, and remember we're lazy, lol.)
  • In 15-to-30 minutes of playing with the ball...
  • Ice cream!

How to Make Ice Cream -- The Rather More Expensive Way

  • Buy a Lello 4080 Musso Lussino 1.5-Quart Ice Cream Maker.
  • Remember, we're playing lazy, so let's just call this machine "The Lello".
  • Your Lello is electric, automatic, and made of stainless steel, and will cost just shy of $700.00.
  • If ice cream is your thing, you'll find it worth every penny.
  • (The Lello is very highly rated by dozens of Amazon users.)
  • Using it is simple for us lazy folks --
  • Plug in the Lello.
  • Open it.
  • Pour in your ingredients,
  • and as the description says on Amazon, "press two buttons."
  • (I don't know. Maybe I'll get a kid to push the buttons, too.)
  • Go watch MASH on TV Land, or something,
  • After 30 minutes, what do you have?
  • Ice cream!

Thanks to your $700 "investment", your Lello-made ice cream will be frozen, and substantially more consistent than typical homemade ice cream.

Yum!
