A good hub on mystery shopper. In good old days, an old bank in Pakistan used to have two Managing Directors. One in the chair and the other incognito or a mystery customer. He used to go to bank branch five minutes before closing time, for public dealing, and request for opening of an account or keeping some money temporarily like safe-keeping under trust receipts. Depending upon the re-action of the branch manager or staff, he would take action, including firing the manager right away, for being unhelpful or ignorant or outright idiot.
