You know that there are a lot of people out there making money on eBay. If people weren't making money on eBay, eBay wouldn't exist! If you are in need of a little extra money and selling things on eBay sounds like something you could do then check out these 3 ways that you can make money on eBay!

Ebay estimates that each household has about $1200 - $1500 of extra possessions that they could sell.  Walk around your house, clean out your closets, go down into your basement and up into your attic and find things that you don't need, want, or have a use for anymore.  Chances are that there is someone else out there who needs what you have and is willing to buy it from you.  Nothing is too stupid or ridiculous for eBay either.  People have sold everything there from cars and couches to corn flakes and pregnancy tests.

Selling your unwanted stuff on eBay is as easy as taking a picture, writing a description, and listing a price.  Hundreds of thousands of people are doing it already - why not you too? 

If you have extra stuff to sell sitting around your own house, what do you think that means for your friends?  However, maybe your friends or neighbors are busy.  You could offer to sell their stuff for them for a commission fee.  Some people have been so successful at this that they have opened up whole businesses selling eBay items on consignment.  To get started, just post ads in a local paper or distribute flyers in your neighborhood telling people that you can help them turn their unwanted stuff into money!  This method also works well during the winter months when having a yard sale isn't possible.

If you are going to help others sell their items on eBay, just remember to inspect the items extra carefully and find out everything you can about the items conditions from the owner.  It would be a complete shame if your eBay seller reputation suffered because the owner of the item left out some details.  Also, it is good to be organized so that you know where each item came from, and who you will owe the money to once the item sells. 

Two more great methods to make money with eBay are dropshipping and wholesaling.  Dropshippers never actually handle the products that they sell.  Dropshippers sell products for other companies at a mark-up, and then order the product at a wholesale price and have it shipped directly to the customer.  For example, let's say that I sell computers.  I sell a computer on eBay for $500.  I then order a computer from the computer company for $300 and have it shipped to my customer directly.  I make a profit of $200.  Dropshipping is a pretty sweet deal if you can find the right company and right products to sell.  If you are going to try dropshipping, I would advise selling products that are popular but don't have too much competition.  If there is too much competition you could end up losing money.

Another way that some have made a lot of money from eBay is buying goods in bulk at wholesale prices and then reselling them for their market price.  Buying goods wholesale usually requires a large up-front investment, because many products must be bought in order to get a good reduced price.  Once again, let's pretend that I sell iPods on eBay.  I would buy 1000 iPods for $100 each from a wholesale electronics company for a total of $100,000.  I would then sell the iPods at the regular market price of $150 each and make a profit of $50,000.  If you are willing to make the upfront investment into buying wholesale and re-selling, it can turn into quite a profitable venture for you.

If you are thinking of getting into dropshipping or wholesale buying, remember to always do your research!  There are plenty of people and companies out there that say they will give you wholesaler and dropshipping lists.  Don't get taken for a ride.  Paying over $50 for a list of companies is not worth your money.  There are plenty of companies online that will tell you upfront that they will drop ship or sell to you wholesale.  If you take your time and do your research, you should have nothing to worry about.
