What is Origami
Origami is an ancient Chinese art of folding papers and giving different shapes like that of an animal, flowers, toys, birds, geometric shapes etc. that is passed on from one generation to other since ages. The Chinese called this are “zhe zhi”. As this art of folding papers and giving shapes got more and more popular, it reached different countries. It even reached Japan where it developed even further and was called “Origami”.

Thank you Dottie. Yes, this bring back old and beautiful memories of school days when we were kids and used to make origami. What lovely and beautiful days were they. We had a complete book on Origami.
Enjoyed your hub. Bring back memories of childhood.
Thanks.
Brings back good memories to me, too, guidebaba. I didn't know it was called origami, but I learned how to make a paper airplane in second grade (1942), but it wasn't as elaborate as the one in your video. We just made them out of our writing paper.
Yes William. As far as I remember, even we used to make origami till 2nd std.

I remember back in the 3rd grade guidebaba, I had a Japanese friend who taught me origami. I still love to paper fold today because it is very relaxing for me to do and I love the memories of my little 3rd grade friend.
The last origami animal I made was snoopy dog. The last origami book I bought not too long ago was "Origami with Dollar Bills". A little more complicated to do because the two sides of a bill are so close in color it is hard to distinguish which side you should be folding.
And something new I learned was that the Chinese called the art of paper folding "Zhe Zhi". Thumbs up to you for a fun and engaging hub!
