Feel like scrapbooking, but not up to a big project or pulling out all of your materials? Opt for a quick scrapbooking project instead! Try this 6 x 6 mini album. It's quick, easy, and you probably have all the supplies you need. These are great to make and/or give away for bridal showers, baby showers, Mother's day, birthdays, and for any occasion!

Materials

  • 12" paper cutter (or scissors)
  • craft knife (optional)
  • ruler
  • pencil
  • adhesive
  • 1-hole punch
  • ribbon
  • stickers, embellishments, etc.
  • 3 sheets of 12 x 12 cardstock (Suggestion: Have 2 sheets be the main/theme paper and the second a solid color or accent)
  • photos (size: 2.5in x 3in, 3in x 5in, 4in x 6in)

1. Cut the first sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock at 6 inches. The cardstock should measure at 12 inches by 6 inches. This will be your cover page.

2. Cut the second and third sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock at 6 inches. The cardstock should measure at 12 inches by 6 inches. This will be your page insert.

3. Fold each sheet of cardstock in half. Now your mini album should measure 6 inches x 6 inches.

4. Using your ruler, mark 1.5 inch from the top and the bottom of the spine of the album.

5. Take your 1-hole punch and punch a hole at each of the 1.5 inch marks on the spine.

6. Cut an 24 inch strand of ribbon.

7. Loop the ribbon through the holes twice, then tie at the top.

8. Adhere your pictures in the album.

9. Now it's time to decorate! Add your stickers, embellishments, journaling, and etc.

This is a quick and easy (economical too) way to make a large number of albums. I used it for my high school students to make their own books about themselves. It worked out great.
