Most people feel anxious at some social situations in their life that is normal, but there are other people that have more than shyness it is called social phobia and it affects millions of people. The problem is that most them dont know how to overcome it and they just accept that they have to live with it.

Overcoming social phobia can be a real challenge for most people, even when they know that their fears are irrational they can contain their fears and anxiety. One of the most negative side effects is that if they just avoid people and stay alone, they become depressed and that is very common in people with social phobia.

However there are different ways to fight this disorder and overcome it with the help of treatments such as drug medications, psychotherapy, self help and natural remedies. Social phobia in teens is very severe because it affects their social life in an age that is very important for them to develop friends and relationships, this then becomes a depression and can result in addictions to alcohol and drugs to cope with the symptoms.

I encourage you to help your adolescent teens in overcoming this disorder as soon as possible, find an expert and follow a therapy. The combination of medications with psychotherapy can be very effective.

i have Social Phobia as u can tell from my name but i dont have a problem making friends i have a problem fighting people im a martial artist so i can block but i cant hit them what should i do

i have the problem cited here. i fear the social situations and go on any length to avoid it. I have most of the symptoms you are referring to. i find it difficult to mixing with people, even with close relatives. is there any way out to get out of this menacing labyrinth. do all you can do to save people like me, i am on the verge of suicide. it is not anymore fun, i wan to get it a stop. i wish for some true help.

I have been a victim of social phobia's killer grip. Ever since I found out through a magazine what I had, I felt compelled to do something to stop it at once;however, every attempt resulted useless and I found myself lost in a world of misery because I knew what I had and I wasn't happy,but could do nothing to stop it..it was destroying me. I am 20 years old and do not want social phobia to contiue to hold a grip on my life...but it's going to be a long process...

Hello people I to am a social phobic

But I promise u it does get better with the right help that is. My symptoms and one stage were so bad I couldnt leave my home without drinking but in the long run it just made it worst as I started to get more and more depressed and more scared of social situations. I found a book at the time called Living with fear: Understanding and coping with anxiety by Issac Marks.

I can promise u this book alone really helped on getting my life back on track, it teaches u how to face and cope in social situations also how to rid yourself of the worst part of social phobia all the symptoms, Heart racing 100miles an hour, feeling really cold but u still sweat, those horrible shakes and the voice that u struggle to project. But I can promise u this book can help. And then U could maybe concider CBT Therapy.

Stay strong people I promise u there is a light and the end of this very long and dark tunnel.
