What is Wii Baseball?
Wii Baseball is one of the sports available in the Nintendo Wii Sports package. Wii Sports comes bundle with the Nintendo Wii console when you buy it. You can begin playing at once, since you have the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Not all games require both the controller and peripheral; Wii Baseball only requires the Wii Remote to begin playing. Make sure that before you start, you securely fasten the wrist strap to your wrist. Since you are playing baseball, you will be batting and pitching during the game. You play three innings, and you get to play the offensive and defensive sides. Whoever scores the most wins.

How to play Wii Baseball
When playing Wii Baseball, you will have the opportunity to bat and pitch. If you are up to bat, you will be swinging the Wii Remote similar to how you would in real life. You want to hold the Wii Remote up in the air with one or two hands and make a swinging motion. When the pitcher throws the baseball at the mound, you want to swing and connect with it to hit it into the field. Depending on your swing, the power behind it and the angle you used, you may hit a ground ball, a pop fly, a foul or a home run. In some cases, you may hit a single, double, triple or the opposing team will make the catch and you will be called out.
If you are pitching, you have five pitches to choose from: Fastball, curveball, change-up, screwball and splitter. For a fastball, you simply snap your wrist forward without pressing any buttons. Curveballs can be thrown when you press B and move the Wii Remote forward. Change-ups are thrown when you slowly move the Wiimote forward; at first, it will look like you have thrown a fastball but at the last minute, it will change-up and confuse the batter. Screwballs can be thrown by holding A and moving the remote forward. Finally, splitters are thrown by holding both A and B while moving the Wii Remote forward.
Tips and tricks to playing Wii Baseball
The most important thing to remember when playing Wii Baseball is to not hurt yourself doing it. If you have played baseball before or been to the batting cages, you do not have to throw yourself into your swinging motion. The harder you swing, the further your ball will go and depending on the angle, you can determine how high, how low or where on the field your hit goes into play. When it comes to pitching, you do not need to throw like an all-star player. You want to focus on the wrist movement, the stronger, more secure the wrist is when pitching, the faster your fastball in particular will be.
