New entrants in this field must understand that buy it now price and reserve price are optional and they must give importance to starting bid price and must fix it below $50 or so and bear in mind that this is applicable for all products. You must have a reserve price because you are placing low opening bid price and for example if your reserve price is at $200 and your highest offer is only $100, then you do not have to trade the product to the top bidder.
Another area that has to be taken care is that eBay auction business is about the shipping price because prospective purchasers will definitely look into about this while participating in a bid or auction. If you are providing free shipping charges, then the number of bidders will high and by this way you can sell your product. The topmost advices for those who have entered or are going to enter in eBay auction field is to give importance for price and fix the price for your product after evaluating the prices of similar product in the market because you are selling your product in a totally different world, on eBay.
