Use Keyword Phrases to Get More Search Traffic to Your Content - Make More Money Online

Let's all become internet writing moguls.  Is that even possible?  It may be.  The truth is there are a lot of people making very nice incomes from their internet writing and internet marketing skills.

Mainly, the big guns are professional copywriters who know how to write to sell and use their skills to sell a certain product on a well-written landing page.  Then they concentrate on driving traffic through search engine marketing or pay per click campaigns.

This is one way to go about making money online and like I mentioned many people do extremely well financially with this kind of work.

There is also the more casual internet writer who wants to write journalistic type articles or wants to promote products or their own websites from places like hubpages.  Then there are writers who just want to pump out content and earn money from this site.

The reason I'm going through these different ways that people make money online writing is because there are lots of ways to go about it.  In the end, writing is like lifting weights: the more you do it, the bigger your writing muscles get, and the easier it will be for you to do ALL KINDS of writing.  And the better you get at creating great content, the easier it will be for you to make money with internet marketing.

Earning money from your internet writing starts with choosing the right keywords.

Make Money Online with Keywords

Without further ado, here are three methods for getting more traffic to your internet writing. For many of you, we are talking about your hubs. These are some basics for choosing keywords, implementing them, and gaining some traffic and search engine rankings.

Get More Web Traffic with the right Keywords.

1) Make sure to use a specific set of keywords related to the subject of your article AND that people are searching for actively on Google. You can check this information out at Wordtracker Free keywords and using the Google Keyword tool. I will be going into more depth on keyword research in a later article.

2) Choose a perfect title. If you can, you want to include the exact keyword that you are targeting in the title. This will help you out a lot in gaining search traffic as the title of your work has a lot of relevance in search queries. Next time you do a Google search, notice how prominent titles are in the search results pages.

3) Promote Your Work Like Crazy. The more you promote your work the more search engine traffic you will receive. It is also important to try to get links back to your work with the same keywords (or relevant keywords) you have been targeting in the first two steps, which shows search engines that others are also linking to your writing as a relevant source regarding the topic which you are writing about.

Here's a quick example. Say you were targeting something like (I'm going to get sort of random here just for fun) fresh water aquariums. You want to use that keyword phrase in the title of your article somehow. You would also want to use it at least twice in a 400 to 500 word article. In addition, getting a few links back to your piece with the same keywords in the anchor text of the link is going to make your piece appear to be a lot more relevant.

The best way to get this kind of relevant link is by making your content very relevant, useful, and well-written. The best way to make a good living from your internet writing and content creation is by producing great work that adds value. This is by far the best way. Look at the most successful bloggers out there--and I'm talking about people who are bringing in at least $15,000 a month--and you will see that they either provide an excellent service for their audience or write insanely high quality articles or break news every single day.

Understanding keywords and SEO (click the link to read about the basics of on-site Search engine optimization) and everything that comes with "internet marketing" is important, but these things are the tools you use to get your content out there. The meat and potatoes is the content itself. If you write super high quality content with amazing information, then people will be falling over themselves to link to it first. Trust me.

If you are a writer, you NEED this book.

*On another note, if you don't have The Adweek Copywriting Book by Joe Sugarman, you need to get your hands on it today and read it cover to cover.

Buy it at Amazon (see link to the right, and yes they are affiliate links, but I don't care about the 11 cents I will get if you purchase it here, I just want you to have the book).  Or find it at a library, borrow from a friend, or go to Borders and read it!  The 20 dollar investment will help you immensely.

The best part about this book is it is aimed at anyone who wants to learn how to write copy well, regardless of whether or not you consider yourself a writer.

Great Content, Backlinks, and Making Money Online

Once you create really good content, the next step it to keyword-rich links to your work.  For instance, for this hub I would want to find links from relevant websites or other hubs that are based on a search phrase like "using keywords to make money onilne," or something similar to this.

Another option would be: "how to drive traffic to your content."  Another one would be, "get more traffic online."

When you write something really good, you will naturally gain links from relevant websites as people will want to show your work to readers of their site.  So, if you concentrate on writing really good keyword-rich content, this is the first step to making money online.

Another way to get links to your work is by finding people who are looking for the type of content you wrote.  If you can solve someone else's problem with the information in your work, you can email a site owner or leave a comment telling them to check out your piece.

If it's helpful and well-written, there is a very good chance that you may get a link.  Another thing about links.  If you can encourage a well-respected website to link to your webpage, you will be well on your way to search engine domination.  The better the site is that links to you (higher PR, old site, lots of readers and great content), the more the link is worth.

This is another reason to write great content.  Once you have your great piece of content, tell everyone in the world who cares about it.  Then hopefully you will receive some links, which will help you increase your page rank and your position in the search engine results pages.  The higher your site appears in Google, the more traffic you will get.  In the internet marketing world, it's important to create great content that helps, informs, and even inspires.  This will help you get to the top.

Traffic is the lifeblood of internet business, so as you gain more traffic, you will earn more money online.
