How to Quit Smoking When You Really Want To Stop

This could be the last time that you Quit
This is a lighthearted sincere post about a significant and perhaps serious problem for smokers who 'can't quit'. This remedy may be the one that will resolve your dilemma, and will cost you almost nothing, will not sign you up for anything (except Hubpages if you wish) and may be accomplished without fanfare until you are 'clean'! Then you can celebrate!
First off the pen, er, keyboard, I wish to state truthfully that I am not a smoker and have never been a smoker, except for the only time I tried smoking driftwood and sucked the flame into the netherworlds of my guts. But that is a story for another time, and I do know a method of reducing nicotine craving that costs only the price of a couple of cigarettes - give or take that, depending on your determination to clear out your lungs permanently. Or at least til next Christmas if you choose that.
Your desire to end your smoking career, coupled with the increasing knowledge about the damages it can cause in long-term health is often not sufficient to begin the journey to healthy lungs, sweet breath, whiter teeth, and longer kisses. Nicotine addiction is (Said to be, and I believe it!) something horrendous that grabs, clutches and won't let you leave. So here is some help, hopefully a real assistance, and you may be able to begin today. However, I must add this disclaimer that this is not to be taken as any medical advice or practice, that you must choose to use at your own responsibility and descretion, that these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA nor any other governing agency, and I am not responsible for any action or result you incur. Thank you.
This home remedy method uses the principles of homeopathy, which is a natural type healing process discovered and researched by Samuel Hahnemann, the German physician who is considered to be the father of homeopathy. Its basic premise is 'like heals like'. Odd, but let me explain further. Samuel Hahnemann found that a miniscule amount of a say, mineral, could reduce or stop the negative symptoms caused by that mineral when too much exposure or ingestion occurred. Homeopathy is the holistic method of treatment with the underlying understanding that substances that cause sickness in a healthy person will in minute (homeopathic) dilutions correct those same symptoms. (Further information is found online along with a list of major homeopathic remedies, at www.answers.com/topic/homeopathy.)
Further, let's assume you walk through poison ivy and start scratching. The medicine to help you, which in homeopathic practice is called a 'remedy', is Rus. tox.Rus toxicohendron is a homeopathic dilution of poison ivy, and in dilutions so weakened that some ignorant scientists have studied and stated that "There is nothing in the solution, so it can't possibly work." Well, they just made the case for homeopathy, because while there may not be any poison ivy molecules in that remedy, the frequency or vibration of poison ivy is implanted into the solution - and that 'invisible amount of poison ivy' is the correct medication -i.e.- remedy to help get rid of your itchy rash.
With that realized assumption in mind, the following is a recipe for nicotine neutralization: Take a cigarette and sitr its tobacco into a small clean glass or baby food jar. Add three tablespoons of distilled water, three tablespoons of vodka, and if desired, a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Do not use white vinegar and read the label to determine that you do not have cider-colored white vinegar. Solution will be fine for use with or without the vinegar. Stir or shake this mixture vigorously til tobacco is throughly soaked.
Then with the solution now in the jar, shake it hard and smack it mightly back and forth, ending one side of your 'shake' with whacking your palm. This hard shaking is what makes homeopathic preparations different than other medicines as the sudden whacking and shaking back and forth is what dissolves the frequency of tobacco into the liquid solution. You must hard-shake the jar for a minimum of one-hundred shakes which will take a couple of minutes or so. I usually do a little extra just to make sure...Note that this solution as well as the following one will have lots of the tobacco molecules in them, but the shaking process is potentizing the solution with the tobacco frequency also. Double whammy here!
Now you may fork out the tobacco leaves and place in another small jar adding the liquids as above in the same proportions. Again shake and whack for at least one-hundred times. You may repeat this full prodedure again in a third new jar, but may just as well choose to discard the leaves this time. This process gives you two solutions, one slightly weaker. Mark them 'one' and 'two' to identify which is which, with the stronge (first) solution being #1.
Now you are ready to begin and you will need an eyedropper. If you have just smoked, do not do this until you have waited about thirty minutes. Then take one drop of solution #2 placed under the tongue and hold it there about a minute, then swallow. You may repeat this in about two hours unless you are heavily craving a smoke. In that case take another drop of #2 and hold under the tongue for a minute, then swallow. Try to wait another two to three hours for another drop, but if your craving is too intense, go ahead and take another drop. Pace your drops at about two to three hours apart unless you need the extra dose earlier. Note: Do not eat/use mint or chew mint gum, or use other strong flavored items like menthol within twenty or thirty minutes of taking your remedy dose - it will neutralize it's working effects. It is best also to refrain from eating for 10 to 15 minutes before or after taking your drop. Water is ok.
If after a day or two you are not somewhat reducing your smoking, you may try the #1 solution in the same process as you have done with #2 solution. If you did make the third jar of tobacco solution previously, you could start with that #3 strength rather than the #2. Your choice, as neither you nor I know what your best tobacco neutralizing strength will be.
It might be concluded you should better start with #3, advance to #2 if you are significantly lung depreciated or have other more significant health problems. Probably best to advise you to contact your physicians before starting this self-help project and follow their medically knowledgable recommendations. Please remember Disclaimer above.
And I wish you success, hope, health and happiness. May your quitting be a fantastic renewal of all you wish it to be, and more. Best of luck, and best of health to you!
It surely won't hurt too much to try - one last time.

Yes, I know three long time smokers who quit using this method. One lady was a chain smoker for 20 years and tried to quit several times. She stopped after about eight days - permanently. I can't say that is 'typical' as the others two took a bit longer, but also no longer smoke after about five years. It is not magic, but it does help to stop the cravings/smoking when you want to stop.
I am half way ready to quit, just thinking of having to use vinegar in anything other than pickles or salad dressing. Yuck! Interesting and unique hub, though.
JadedPoet, you can try this 'quitting thing' anytime, and again if you need to. You don't have to use the vinegar, but it doesn't taste much in the tobacco/alcohol. It just puts in a little more acid to dissolve more into the solution. Good luck and best wishes when you get ready to quit. Keep me posted too!
Hmmm, I just may have to try this, I hope it doesn't mess with my, well we will just not go there. thanks, bookmarking this one.
C.C. Riter, hey, good news to hear - you can try this anytime, and I would hope it works well for you. I just read your Edgar A. Poe poem and it is a dilly - you did great on the cadence too, loved it. Keep me posted on your decision here too. Best Wishes!
frogy, Part of me wants to stop but 60% of me wants to keep on blowing those smoke in circles. Whew! I don't know why smoking is fun, relaxing and a lot more...
sheenarobins, it is because smoking/blowing those circles is relaxing and satisfying to you. That is real! But so are the harmful effects of long term smoking on the body. Someday you will be ready to quit, maybe a long time. Best wishes as you go your ways...Thank you for your comment.
Good hub, this is very interesting. I am now just over 12 hours into my quitting, but if for some reason I struggle I will try this for sure! Thanks for pointing me towards this info. Have a great day. ~ Scott
Very best wishes to you in this 'job' you are taking on! Success comes one step at a time. This 'method' works rather like the patch does, giving you tiny 'neutralizing' amounts of nicotine to help your body become dis-acclimated gradually. Good Luck!!
This was an interesting read. I have tried to quit smoking a few times and the last major attempt saw me switching from tobacco to herbal 'ginseng' ciggys.
kirstenblog, thanks for reading with interest. If you feel like it, try the method when you want to quit smoking. Then let us all know how you did. Thanks, and best wishes!

Wow...do you know anyone personally who has tried this and where it has worked?? Smoking can be so hard to quit.
I do take homeopathy for a whole lot of other ailments, but am reading about this particular method for the first time.
