How to Recognize Your Audience
64How To Recognize Your Audience
I believe that everyone has been sent to the earth for someone. We all have a solution to someone's problem. All of us can motivate, inspire and ignite the passion in someone. The challenge is connecting with the right people. I believe most people spend the majority of their lives around the wrong people. Let me quantify that statement. It is not that there something wrong with the people we spend most of our lives around. They are simply not our audience and nothing can be more frustrating than to have a burning passion about something and be around people who have no interest at all in what you have to share.

Whose Really Listening To You
Examples
Let's look at some examples. Tyra Banks for example has discovered her audience. You or I may have no interest at all in what Tyra talks about on her show, but there is a target audience that is very interested in what she has to say and they keep coming back to hear more. Ophrah Winfrey and Jerry Springer are other examples. They have discovered their audience and everything they do targets that particular audience. They waste little to no time trying to cater to people like me who have no interest in what they're doing. That would only lead to frustration, low ratings and no profit. There is something to be learned from these icons if you will. How many levels of frustration have we accumulated as a result of catering our lives to people who have no interest in who we are and what we have been sent to the earth to represent?
How To Recognize Your Audience
In your quest to recognize your audience it is important not to try to control your audience. Our comfort level tends to be the controlling factor when it comes to our audience. We like to be around people who do not challenge us on certain issues or even things such communication skills and or perceived levels of success. It is amazing how teachers will usually talk mostly to teachers and janitors will talk to janitors and engineers will talk to engineers. This is not always a good thing. We need to entertain a diverse audience. We need to talk to those who have attained higher levels of success. A wise man once said, if you want to do something that you've never done find someone who has done it and engage them in conversation. Read their books, buy their CD's and use whatever means there is available to tap into their wisdom. The same wise man also said, stay away from the people who have the same problems you have and hook up with those who have your answer. He was a very wise man.
Your audience will be interested in what you have to share. They will engage you for more information. They will not just be the casual listener who nods their head in approval. They will challenge you to dig deeper and to do more. They will also remember what you've said. They will expect you to accomplish your goals and they make inquiries about your progress. Many people are one person away from great success. Go out and find your audience today!
