How to Relieve Burning or Painful Feet

Burning or painful feet is common after a long day of standing, walking or just sitting, many people are so used to burning feet that they ignore the condition that is causing it, some conditions are local and minor and some are more serious. Burning foot is more common in those over the age of 50 years, but it can also occur in younger age groups.
Symptoms: Feet which seem to burn or painful at night.
Causes:
- Deficiency in niacin (vitamin B3).
- An air-excluding shoes or perspiration-retaining cotton or wool socks.
- Allergic reactions to the dye used on the stocking or socks.
- The chemical compounds in shoes, did you ever notice that synthetic shoes smell like rubber tires.
- Excessive pressure put on your feet as a result of obesity and spending a long period standing.
- Athletes' foot can sometimes spread to cause burning sensation on the sole of the foot.
- Alcohol use may also lead to burning feet symptoms.
- Nerve inflammation is another possible cause of tingling and painful feet. This is damage to the nerves, in this case the nerves to your feet is a symptom of peripheral neuropathy. One of the most common causes of peripheral neuropathy is diabetes.
Prevention and Natural Remedies:
- Add niacin to your diet.
- Nerve inflammation can be reduced or eliminated by taking a B complex supplement - specifically, B1, B2, pantothenic acid and B6 and B12, to eliminate the pins-and-needles sensation.
- Wear good-fitting, leather shoes, not synthetic ones.
- Wear socks made out of cotton and change your socks halfway through each day.
- Choose mesh shoes vs. full leather so your feet will have a chance to breathe.
- Exercise such as walking is good as it improves circulation to the feet. Massaging the feet also increases circulation.
- Soak your feet in cool water, this will help invigorate and strengthen the feet.
- Rotate your shoes and socks, both between walking sessions and during the day.
- Insoles provide padding and ease the daily strain that is put on your feet
- Avoid standing for long periods of time.
- Rest is a simple but most effective remedy. You might try reducing your stress and giving yourself more time to rest and recover everyday.

Great hub. I can relate to it. I had tried insoles and they didn't work. I discoved it was the shoes poor quality. A new pair shoes and no more problems.
