We all love our dogs and cats; but, it is the fur, we are not so crazy about. Although there is a simple solution to anything these days, so I am sure one of these ideas will suit your family. We have all suffered from this problem especially when going out at night and wearing that little black number, or the hubby is decked out in his penguin suit, it could not be more obvious.

• Vacuum cleaner

I am not kidding you, vacuum the dog before he drops the fur on the chairs or carpets. Ours was not so sure of the noise at first; although he loves, it now because he is getting his back massaged. Do it without the vacuum turned on at first to get him used to it, use the small flat head. Take care not to put too much pressure on the animal in the process.

Use the vacuum with the rotating head for carpets or chairs; this removes the pet fur, although some vacuums do not come with this attachment.

• Velcro Hair curlers

Great for smaller areas, either the plastic or wire, curler both work. Remove the hairs after each run over the chair or you will put them back again.

• Rubber gloves

The ones with the little knobs on them work the best. Rub the glove over the chair or carpet and the fur will collect into a ball. Using gloves on nylon carpets could tend to warm your hand with the friction. Like with carpet burns, need I say more?

• Squeegee Mop or sponge

Use a slightly dampened squeegee; rub this across the affected area. Place a small container beside you to place the unwanted hair in. You do not want it back on the floor.

• Lint removers

These are great for the smaller areas. Some come with the sticky roller that you turn as used. Another type is the clothes brush type that you remove lint one-way, then, turn the head around and the lint comes off. These are quite effective.

• any type of sticky tape

Use masking or painters tape wrapped around a piece of wood or even around your hand to gather the fur.

• Sprinkle baking soda

Sprinkle baking soda around your carpets. This tends to loosen the fur, and deodorizes the carpet at the same time, removing odors.

One of these methods should help you in your efforts to remove your little darling's fur.

Of course the prevention of fur in your home would be a dog like a poodle without that problem.
