How to Repair a Keyboard
60
In never fails, when we need to get something done, our keyboard fails us. It usually comes in small frustrations, where one key goes or a section of keys goes. It usually ends up being a key or section you need the most, too. You can either go out and purchase a new keyboard which is what most people do, or you can opt to try and repair the keyboard yourself. In most cases, when a keyboard goes bad, it goes bad and you will need to purchase a new one.
However, in some cases, you may be able to fix minor problems with your keyboard. The first thing you should do when having issues with your keyboard is to unplug it from your computer after shutting your system down. Restart your computer, plug the keyboard in and see if there is some sort of connection issue. If not, you will want to take a look at the affected area and see if you can notice any issues with how the keys press up or down or if there is anything obstructing the keys or area.
If not, then the keyboard itself may be going bad. If that is the case, you will need to purchase a new one unless you know how to take apart your keyboard to take a closer look. Before taking apart your keyboard, make sure you bring up a diagram of where everything goes. This way you know where to put what when putting it back together. Once you have taken the affected area apart, set the keys aside and take a look at the connectors. It is possible the connector itself has gone bad, if that is the case and you can find a new one, you can attempt to replace it and pop the key back in.
If that does not work, purchasing a keyboard is your next option. If you cannot easily repair your keyboard, purchasing a new one is the cheapest route to take. While most keyboard issues can be fixed easily if you take the time, do not be afraid of purchasing a new one and taking advantage of what is out there.
