Tracking Your AdSense Revenue

If you have an AdSense account and are actively publishing ads to your websites then it is easy to track the impressions and clicks each of your sites are getting. One such way to do this is by using channels within AdSense.

To setup a channel, log into your AdSense account and click on the AdSense Setup tab. Next click on "Add New Custom Channels" to create your new channel. Once you had added a new channel you will need to note the channel ID value. The channel ID will need to be inserted into your JavaScript code that you add to your web pages for displaying the Google ads.

The easiest way to ensure the channel is present in your AdSense code is to go through the process of setting up your ad and then choose the new channel you created. The JavaScript code that is created will then contain your channel ID and can easily be cut and pasted into your web page file.

Another way to track your which pages generated AdSense revenue is to use URL channels. A URL channel allows you to monitor all pages on one site without having to have channel IDs for each Ad. You do, however, lose being able to track individual ads on a page since you could have multiple channels per page.
