Planting Seeds for Success

In order to run a successful business, it is important to recognize your most valuable resource-people.  In this article, we will use seeds as an analogy for people, and there are good seeds and bad seeds.  We need to focus upon the good.

It is quite simple to recognize individuals who possess and demonstrate good traits.  These people are eager and willing to learn, have great attitudes, and a strong work ethic.  Good seeds are also great around other people and have pleasing personalities.  These are people that know how to set the pace, take initiative, asks great questions, and accept challenges.

The objective is to plant seeds for success, so it is important to plant in fertile soil.  The fertile soil is an atmosphere where encouragement and positive mental creativity is welcomed and embraced.  Fertile soil is the information source, where foundations can build solid with boundless opportunities for growth and expansion.  Fertile soil is where great leadership lives.

You cannot plant seeds in rocky places.  Rocky places are spread out, isolated from one another.  This is similar to leadership that is unwilling to share.  There are also thorny places; this is where leadership is negative.  Weeds also exist, just to promote apathy and laziness.  It's very important to uproot weeds prior to planting.

It may be in your best interest to start fresh, pick the right people and plant them in the right places.  As you continue this exercise, your business will flourish and grow.  Show and lead people by example, and your actions will be duplicated by others.  Share information, provide counsel and continue to educate yourself and others.  Build alliances that are based upon honesty and integrity and the relationships will grow strong and your business can improve and produce great results over a short period of time.
