How to Sponsor a US Soldier
62Are you grateful for the millions of US Soldiers who put their lives on the line to protect you and your country every single day? Many of those US Soldiers end up feeling lonely and depressed because it can seem as if nobody really cares. Why not reach out and show them that you care? Display your gratitude by choosing to sponsor a US Soldier today. Your kind gesture of sponsorship could change a US Soldier's life forever.
-
Contact your local "American Red Cross" organization (800)733-2767. Advise them that you would like to participate in their "Adopt-A-Soldier" program. You can also sponsor a US Soldier via legitimate internet websites, such as "Care Package Project." Care Package Project will send care packages to a US Soldier on your behalf.
-
Contact a local recruiting office to let them know that you would like to sponsor a US Soldier or troop. To find a local recruiting office in your area visit the official US military websites, GoArmy.Com, AirForce.Com, Marines.Com, and Navy.Com. Once you are on the website select the option to "Find a Recruiter." The wording may slightly vary by site.
-
Contact local churches or schools within your community to see if any of the family members of a US Soldier would like for him/her to be sponsored. Ask for the US Soldier's contact information. The benefit of using this method to send a care package is that you can personalize the package. You will have some sort of idea who the package will go to. You can send whatever you would like, such as books, bibles, electronics, cologne, snacks, toiletries, inspirational cd's, socks, and undergarments. You can also send electronics such as MP3 players, CD players, and DVD players. By providing the soldier with those electronics you are providing an "Outlet" for them to get away and relax for a short while.
