Fake COACH bags are a little hard to spot. If you are considering on buying a Coach bag from a questionable source, the best way would to go to the Coach website and take a look at the real thing or even go into a reputable store that carries Coach products.

GENERAL THINGS TO LOOK FOR:

Stitching Quality

Pay attention to little detail such as the quality of the stitching. If the stitching looks sloppy, off line, overlapping or glued its not real.

Zippers

Coach also uses the best hardware like the zippers. The brand stamp on the zippers should be "YKK" if you dont see the "YKK then you know its not a real Coach Bag. Coach bags were made about 75% of the time in the US as of 2002,now most of them are made in China but if it says made in Korea then its not a real Coach Bag.

Things to look for in the Signature Coach Collection

Signature C's

The easiest way in determining authenticity would be to exam the layout of the signature C's. The signature C's should be lined up perfectly to the center. The tip of the "C" facing the other "C" should be touching. The seams should go straight down through the middle of the CC's, and the pattern should be aligned horizontally and vertically. Some bags look like they have two C's but really are G's so if someone is selling you a Coach bag with the G you know for sure its not the real thing. Look at the inner lining is there a signature Coach logo? if so the CC should be touching like the outside.

Coach uses logo tags that are attached to a beaded chain. The tag should match the trim of the bag.and the word Coach should be raised not inprinted.

Coach bags have a serial number stamped on the inside on a square patch of leather sewn into the lining.
