I whole-heartedly believe that ANYONE can start and be successful in an online business. Of course "success" is all-relative! It is relative to what your goals are, what you put into the business, and what you get out of it.

Most people are either afraid to start a business or they procrastinate. It is really quite unfortunate because you really can earn money online. Some people may only earn an extra $50 a week or day, and some will make hundreds of thousands a week.

Some people may start at only making $50 a week and then they realize how to duplicate and turn that into a full time income plus!

The challenge is two fold - getting started, and knowing where to start. As an experienced online business owner and income earner, I am going to show you the basics on how to do both.

First, there are many ways to make money online (free ebooks here) but here are the most common:

1. Selling on ebay

2. Selling products/services you make or own

3. Selling info/downloadable products

4. Promoting affiliate programs

5. Selling products in a drop ship mode

6. Using the internet to build more sales with an existing offline business or service

So how do you choose?

1. Ask yourself the following questions:
2. How much do I have to invest?
3. What are my technical skills?
4. Do I have an interest or hobby others may be interested in?
5. How much time do I have to devote?
6. Do I want to carry my own products?
7. Do I already have a product or service that I can better leverage online?

Limited Capital?

If you have low capital to invest say $500 or less, then you will want to look at ebay, creating your own info product, drop shipping, or affiliate promotions. All of these take relatively little start up capital (maybe hosting and a domain) . However you do have to do a little more foot work, reading, learning, etc.

If you have a hobby or talent, you can turn that into a downloadable ebook or video and promote via ebay social marketing, blogs, etc. This is high profit and relatively low start up, and is an automated fairly stress free business. Highly recommended!

Some capital but short on time?

In this case you can choose about any of the models above as you can afford to outsource aspects of the business you do not have time for. Even if you have no talent or hobby to leverage, you can pay someone else who does for their "story" or expertise. This is very common. You can typically do this and get a complete system going for around $1500-2000 and then you simply practice Internet marketing strategies and bank the profits.

Drop shipping or carrying your own products is also an option if you have capital, as again you can afford to stock inventory and outsource the work involved.

Affiliate promotions, unless you really understand it, is probably not an area to delve into if you have little time. You can't outsource it unless you understand it, which takes time initially, but then it becomes fairly automated as well.

If you fall into this category, you do face some challenges. However eBay is a good place to start. Also, it may just take a little longer to get going if you can only afford to spend a few hours a week on your business.

One thing to note is - if you are SERIOUS about changing your life, you will find an hour a day to dedicate to your business. IF you do this, you will be able to have a business going within 30 days using social marketing and other strategies.

The most important thing is to get started. Take a day to browse your options, and then make a plan and start. I have literally got an idea and put a site up and had revenue coming in within a week. Not millions, but vacation money for only a few days of work!
