Christmas Season is synonymous to shopping, partying, reunions, and of course staying out late at night. This is the happiest season of the year and most of us want to experience the joy the Christmas season brings, but one thing we should keep in mind is that all this celebration will definitely put stress in our body. So here are some reminders and tips on how to stay beautiful during the holiday season.

  • Each glass of alcoholic beverage can make you dehydrated. Dehydration is one of the causes of dry skin and wrinkles. To avoid dehydration always drink one glass of water for every glass of alcoholic beverage you drink. Although there really isn't a clear number of how much water a person should drink in one day, since you normally lose about 2.5liters through respiration and excretion, when you drink alcohol, you end up losing 3 to 3.5 liters of water, so makes sure you are putting that back into your system.
  • Some people can't handle drinking too much water, if you can't drink enough water eat fruits that contains 85 - 90% water like watermelon, apple, pineapple before going to the party. But always remember, "Water is still the best weapon against dehydration."
  • Always use topical creams and moisturizers. For dry skin, there are some very good moisturizers out there in the market in the form of dimeticone, which has the combined effects of antioxidant and moisturizers in one. Moisturizers with soy and genestine are also very good for dry skin and wrinkles.
  • Smoke is another factor that can affect your beauty during the party season. Smoking can really take its toll with regards to how deep your wrinkles will be and how many wrinkles you'll have. Smokers usually have the unsightly wrinkles around the mouth because of cigarette puffing, and they also have dull and sallow skin. Even the second smoker

  • Even if you're not puffing away (second-hand smoke), you still need to be cautious to combat the free radicals generated by second-hand smoke, which can cause wrinkles, respiratory and heart problems. Always take supplements, antioxidants like vitamin A,C, E, coenzyme Q10, and glutathione. The oral supplements will help your body cope with the stress. You should also eat food that is rich with antioxidants like carrots (betacarotene), tomatoes (lycopene) and all dark colored vegetables like broccoli and spinach, which has an essential stress-busting antioxidant.
  • Partying can also cause damage to the hair. Even if your hair looks so beautiful when you arrive to a party, the pollution, smoke and stress can stripped the beauty of your hair. It is recommended to spray the outer layer of your hair with leave on conditioner or other hair moisturizers to help protect it from dryness and further damage. Use shampoo that is gentle on your hair and scalp but strong on pollution and other impurities. Use Aloe Vera-based shampoo and Aloe Conditioning Crème to delicately clean the hair and scalp and fights the long-term effects of the harmful residues. The conditioner moisturizes and helps prevent future damage caused by these environmental aggressions.

  • If you're using a lot of heavy makeup when you are partying out, facial wash and water usually aren't enough to remove it. Sometimes cleansing oils and cold cream will do a better job. But if you are prone to breakouts, Dermatologist recommends that you stay away from oil-based creams and cleansers. People who are prone to breakouts are advised, "to go back to basics," which means just use gentle cleansing facial wash and mild moisturizer like Ponds.
  • Make sure to clean you skin thoroughly after a night out. Exfoliate your skin with a gentle exfoliating formula, after showering off the exfoliating formula, apply a virgin coconut oil or extra virgin oil on your skin. Virgin coconut oil and Extra Virgin Olive oil contains strong antioxidant that will make your skin strong and healthy.
  • Do you ever notice that after a few days of late night partying, you suddenly break out a couple of days later? This is because your body has a biological clock that tells you to sleep at a certain time. So when you're still partying at 3 0'clock in the morning, your body produces the hormone androgen, which basically tell your body that you're stressed. Doctors say that androgen is not your best friend when it comes to acne prevention. "Androgen makes the sebaceous glands secrete more oil that causes pimples.

Although there are plenty of topical creams, anti-aging, food supplement and a lot more antioxidants that are available in the market today, experts are still advising party people to stay healthy and beautiful by doing everything in moderation.

I am not a large drinker of alcoholic beverage. I certainly did not know about water and the alcohol equivalent

Thank you for that extra knowledge.
