Your boyfriend has been acting up lately. He has been hanging out with his friends more than with you and actually stood you up at what you thought was both your favorite restaurant. Well you are not married to the guy and there is this cute guy at work who would like to take you out. Should you cheat on your boyfriend and take the cute guy at the office up on his offer of a night out. Or should you confront your boyfriend and just tell him that you will like to spend more time you him.

You have developed the urge to cheat and you almost feel justified because of the neglect you have been feeling with the absence of your boyfriend especially at being stood up and then to receive an excuse via a email the following day. You were steaming mad and the other guy’s picture kept appearing in your mind like an open invitation to cheat on your boyfriend.

How to stop the urge to cheat on your boyfriend. You talk the issues over with him and do not play down your feeling of abandonment and neglect. Let you boyfriend know that you are not at all secure but that you can not stay in a relationship that seem to be inclusive of only one person, yourself. Do not accept any generalities such as “I just like hanging out with my friends,” or that “You are not giving me the space that I need.” Only accept his plan of action as to improve the time that the two of you can spend together. Tell him that you want specifics about his plans for changing how he allots his time in reference to his friends and you. If he can not give you a clear answer then it is time to move on.

Do not take the cute guy up on his offer of a night out while you are still in a relationship with your boyfriend. You may be getting into another problematic situation and at this time, you need answers and solutions to why your boyfriend is no longer spending a lot of time with you and had the audacity to stand you up. One guy was overheard saying that if a guy stands you up then that means that he no longer cares about you. You have got to make sure that the relationship is worth saving before you move on to someone else.

Once you start a trend of including other people in your personal relationship problem, the process may never end. You may be training yourself without realizing it to not confront a problem but to behave like a child and get back at the person who hurt you. By sharing your company with someone else you will be using revenge which is not a good thing to do. You will only be complicating the relationship situation and not getting to the root of the problem. Getting to the root of the problem means that you have to go to your boyfriend and have a serious talk about the positive actions he is going to take to spend more time with you.

You stop the urge of cheating by not making that choice a step to take to correct a problem that does not concern the cute guy in the office. You are not separating the problem but is adding to it when you include another person. In fact you are using the cute guy in the office if you decide to go out with him while you are still involved with someone else. Guys do not like to be used. Guys like to be taken for face value and not as a rebound especially when you are still in a relationship with another person. Guys are territorial and do not like to hedge onto someone else’s space especially if there is a girl involved. Cut to the chase and have a serious talk with you boyfriend and then make a decision that only you can make. Whatever you do, stop the urge to cheat and be asssertive in confronting your boyfriend with the problem of why your relationship is headed southward.
