What is a Recession

If you've been paying attention to the news then you know that our country is headed for economic hard times (better known as a recession, shhhhh...). According to many economists the United States has already slipped into a deep recession. By the strict definition of the term “ a recession is 2 consecutive quarters of economic constriction”, we have not seen this yet. Growth has been in the decimal range at about .6%. Not strictly a recession but not a glowing economic statement by any means. So here's the question. How do you survive a recession?

If you are just getting started or are thinking of starting an online business, take hart. The internet economy is still here and many feel that it will continue to expand during the coming hard times. Why? Well it just makes economic sense to do your shopping online. When you shop on line you don't use any fuel to go from store to store looking for what you want. When you make a purchase it will be shipped to you. Many times this will be a cheaper solution, especially if you are not in a hurry to receive your purchase.

I would start your new business by selling items from around your house. Ebay is the worlds biggest garage sale and makes it incredibly easy to place your item and make a sale. You can continue using ebay autions even after you are ready to move on but you will soon want to step to creating your own store with ebay stores or other store front solutions available today. Another alternative is Google base which brings with it the power of googles search engine to help people find your items. Where ever you choose to start, using this method will help you learn the ropes and will minimize your financial risks.

Beat the Recession - Buy Wholesale

Do you know what you want to sell? In the beginning it is always a good idea to start with what you love or are passionate about. Do you love to play golf, do guilting or maybe grow plants? The fact is you already know a lot about your favorite pass times and speak the language so it will be easier for you to start your business in those fields. People will be more comfortable with you and will be more likley to buy from you because your passion will shine through and they will know that they have found a fellow traveler and so you will more easily establish a rapport with your customer base.

So where do you find products to sell? Product sourcing is going to be the most time consuming thing that you do in your online business. The key here is to find good honest wholesale drop shippers who will work with a small time start up home business like yours. There are several companies out there that specialize in providing lists of wholesale companies that will work you. In this hub I will confine myself to talking about only the best source for you as a new marketer starting in hard times. World Wide Brands is the hands down winner in this area. World wide brands provides solid support for any marketer whether just starting or a power seller they have what you need . Get their e-book “Start you internet business RIGHT” by CEO and founder Chris Malta, Chris has gone the distance to provide you with th information you need to get started and not miss anything important along the way.

How To Find Your Niche

Specialize. Become specific. People love to find exactly what they want. They love to think that something is made “just for them”. Being specific is powerful. Just look at the shelve of the next shopping center you go to. Have you gone to your local drug store looking for just plain old “Crest” toothpaste lately? It's hard to find. What you will find is Tarter control, Whitening, Fresh Mint, Twist, Bubble Gum, etc. Why is this? Most marketers have found that by taking a general appeal product and repackaging it with very minor changes, to make it appeal to very specific niche markets they can multiply their sales and create a more loyal customer base. Now thats powerful!
