How to Turn Freelance Writing Skills Into Cash Flow
55Love to write? Turn it into a second income.
Freelancers, bloggers, writers, whatever you want to call yourselves, there are many ways you can turn your love for writing into income. As long as you love to write, you can use the internet, your local media sources, and a few other resources to create a legitimate secondary income.
I'm a Civil Engineer. In engineering school, we had to write tons of reports and lab writeups. We were also required to take advanced-level writing courses. During my career, I have had to depend on my writing skills to get my job done. I am required to constantly interact with the public, the regulated community, and other regulatory agencies. It's a good thing that I love to write.
Maybe you aren't a professional writer, and maybe you don't have perfect grammer and an English Lexicon in your back pocket. But if you love to write, journal, or blog, you have what it takes to make money writing. If you start with your basic desire to turn your writing skills into a decent income, you can learn what you need to increase your skill and chances to turn it into a cash-producing activity.
I have been doing some serious research into the ways that you can churn out the bucks by writing online. Article writing happens to be one of the most popular. If you take a particular subject that you have a lot of interest in, and if this same subject is a hot topic that many other people want to know about, you have a potential income generator. How?
By generating traffic. Web traffic. If you love golf, and there are tons of people searching on the web for articles about golf, you can write about it and draw people to your own blog or article site. This traffic that you have just started to generate is of particular interest to those that want to put their products in front of the people who have an affinity for golf. The basic concept is that you write great articles, draw in the traffic, and get paid by advertisers who place small ads on your article site for helping them to get exposure.
You can also generate income by creating your own ads for your own products that you sell, and attract your target audience by writing relevant information that piques their interest. It could be in the form of a blog, a basic website, or even an online newsletter or "e-zine". Again, the basic idea is to attract attention to your site, and expose products that you have to sell to the people who take interest in that area.
Those are just 2 very broad ideas, but there are hundreds of other ways that you can make money from your love for writing.
